Gather step is a terrible excuse to bring football into basketball. Might as well Hail Mary the ball to yourself and run forty feet to catch it so you never have to dribble at all! Or just hot potato it to yourself and pretend it took nine steps to gain control! Or just invent a new game of jump rope where you stop the rope every few jumps and jump in place for ten seconds before swinging it again. Why not cartwheel down the court and pretend that all limbs are pivot points? Or….. just actually dribble
