I don't understand the apologists for the Brooks of the world. If you're actually an "ultimate competitor" and a "great teammate and winner", then shut up and win something, use 2 brain cells to think about what will actually win rather than what makes you feel like an alpha male. Be someone who your teams actually want to keep around when they start turning into contenders rather than a rabid pit bull who, apparently, LITERALLY CANNOT BE ASKED to change the way they approach the game or they'll collapse into a boneless puddle of goo. Be an adult who can listen and learn something.

Iâm not a fan of either team here. I started watching this game somewhere in the second period. Both teams had scores somewhere in the mid 40s at the time. From that point until halftime, it was absolutely excruciating to watch. It was so over officiated. The second half wasnât much better. I finally left the game to watch Welcome to Derry, right after the Lakers went up by 20 with a little over 6 minutes left. I checked on the score later, and was like âWhat?!!â. Looks like I missed a pretty exciting last half of the quarter. Anyway, from what I did see in replay clips, it looked to me like the Suns kinda got fucked right there at the end. Looked to me like LeBron was in Brooksâs landing area. Brooks was an idiot, though for getting up into LeBronâs face. That was stupid. I wouldnât have an issue with the no call, if they had just been consistent and not called a foul on Booker either a few seconds later. I donât think itâs a loserâs mentality, to point out if the officiating is bad. I feel like this guy loses a little bit of his objectivity, when it comes to discussing LeBron, and the Lakers. I guess we all do that when it comes to our favorite players and teams, though. Whatever.

The Lakers look better without Reaves. With Reaves, we lose to Phoenix; without Reaves, we beat Phoenix. Reaves makes our defense really bad. Trade Reaves.

I agree but that bad officiating shouldn't determine games at the last minute.
A lot of good points are made about not blaming the officiating. Still officials can control the game if they work hard enough at it. I watched the NBA in the 70s and people said that they would never end fighting. I mean real fighting with blood and broken bones. Too much on the line, super competitive athletes, etc. The same stuff the NHL has always said. The NBA did it by league wide enforcement and players adapted. The league controls playing time and therefore players' money. Suspensions and ejections work. Lakers were also more physically aggressive with the refs, but i always thought that was an automatic ejection

Even back in 2022, the warriors blew the lakers out with 3 pointers and the following game they dropped 37 free throws to blow the warriors out in return, you then say "margins." Can't help but laugh at how the league trying so hard to safe guard lakers into the playoffs, creating a false hope and delusion for the lakers fan, only for them to be waken up by a huge slap in the face again in the first round that this team, despite refs best effort, will still have their asses kicked so hard.
The Lakers will continue to get punked by more athletic and younger teams. Theyâre a great example of a great regular season team whoâs also a first round exit. Not resigning LeBron (unless he takes a vet minimum). Trade Reaves for draft picks and athletic bigs. Trade Rui for quick and athletic wings. Theyâll have to re-work their whole roster to keep Luka happy. OKC is the model to follow.
Dillon Brooks is NOT one of the best players in the league 'as a role player'. He's shooting 32% from three on high volume. His metrics have been trending down for a month now, he just got off to a good start. He had a couple of good moments in big spots this year so that has helped craft this image of him being a great player but really it's the Suns injuries that has forced them to run offense through him. He's fine, what he always was, but no star role player. And different than Stevenson, he is rough and physical with Lebron, not just trying to get under his skin by blowing in his ear. He's a different cat than someone like Lance Stephenson.

All i want for Luka is to be more selective and have a better shot selection in general. Shoot less pass more. I would prefer him average 30 on 18 shots and have more assist than average 24 shots. If he does that hes easily over 50% fg. But at this point i just dont think its who he is. But if he was he would be a lot more fresh on the defensive end and in the 4th quarter. Why take 24 shots and half of them are bad if you can take less shots but good ones and makes as many as if u shot 24. Plus u then have more possessions for u to playmake and get others involved.
