I’ll take a Paul Pierce in his prime any day over Melo… With that said Where Melo was in his career during the trade offer was about equal to where Paul was and when you add Jamal and Austin it definitely was giving up too much & getting back to little. More than one person vetoed the Carmelo trade. Paul Pierce flexed his veteran status and said he didn’t want to go. Also, Carmelo was ALWAYS a black hole on offense. Give him the ball and it isn’t coming back. He also wasn’t a good defender and didn’t run pick and roll, which is CP’s bread and butter. Don’t JUST blame Doc
