Two-month streak SNAPPED | Fenerbahce – Panathinaikos | R16 BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS 2025-26
Panathinaikos ground out a 77-81 win at Fenerbahce on the back of 25 points from Kendrick Nunn in the battle of the last two EuroLeague champions, improving to 10-6 while the hosts dropped to 9-6 after their first loss in 13 games in all competitions.
In a physical and low-scoring first quarter, Panathinaikos nosed ahead 16-17 with the opening 10 minutes marked by an audacious Talen Horton-Tucker dunk at one end and a Kendrick Nunn shot from way downtown at the other. The Greens pulled away into a 27-37 lead in the second as Nunn caught for the visitors, but Fenerbahce fought hard to stay in touch and slashed the deficit to 37-41 at halftime. An 11-0 run at the start of the third quarter turned the tide and gave Fenerbahce a 48-41 lead, and the hosts stayed in the driving seat to take a 57-50 advantage into the final 10 minutes of the contest. The Greens conjured a 5-16 run early in the fourth quarter to nose ahead 62-66 and held on to their lead in the home straight, as Nunn sank four successive free throws while TJ Shorts added another to silence the home crowd.
Nunn added 4 assists and as many steals to his tally while Cedi Osman chipped in with 11 points for Panathinaikos. At the other end, Talen Horton-Tucker netted 22 points for Fenerbahce, Tarik Biberovic chipped in with 15 and Wade Baldwin added 11, but the competition’s holders were undone by 22 turnovers having only managed 14 assists.
