The Spurs Plans Have Changed…

The San Antonio Spurs have some decisions to make around Victor Wembanyama, and their plans may have changed…

  1. The Spurs is a Pop team. OKC is also a Pop team. In a way the Nuggets are trying to be a Pop team too. Smart, far sighted small market teams with really sharp brains running things.

  2. Castle has no jumper qnd omg his vision is ass. Knicks was stealing all those terrible passes and blantant god shit entre passes.

  3. Fox contract is timed perfect with Harper. As soon as Harper new contract kicks in, Fox contract will be off and maybe he sticks around slightly above the MLE by that time.

  4. You guys know nothing about how the Spurs operate. They were never going to make the star trade. They’re not interested in stars like the rest of the NBA. They’re not gonna trade their whole core so they can pay Giannis $60 million a year. They never seriously considered KD.

Sam Presti came up with the Spurs during the big three era and OKC is operating just like the Spurs did under Buford. Brian Wright is going to continue operating like that. They don’t need or want to trade for some big high maintenance star.

  5. The Spurs are 12-3 when Harper plays, 12-4 when Castle plays, 12-5 when Fox plays, and 9-6 when Wemby plays. That doesn't mean that the guards are more important than Wemby, but it does suggest that they're more than the sum of their parts. The Spurs shouldn't be getting rid of any of that trio.

This is especially true when it's much easier to have a sustainable team when you get a lot of production from players you drafted.

  6. The Spurs are actually small on the front court. That’s not good for rebounding. Their top 4 Small Forwards are all 6’5” or 6’6” guards, Vassell,Johnson Harper, Castle. The starting Power forward is tweener Harrison Barnes. Love all these guys! Victor is light in the ass! Do we really want him battling BIGS all the time. He gets bodied!
A Vassell plus #1 gets Myles Turner from BUCKS NOW! (Don’t wait for other teams to get him!) Victor get his bodyguard and another rim protector!
Send Fox to Heat for Wiggins, a #1 and Fonteccio.
For Bucks they would be better off getting OG and Mitchell( better contracts and trade pieces) than KAT for Giannis!
Starting lineup of Harper,Castle, Wiggins,Victor and Turner! More size, more rebounds, more rim protection, better defense same shooting and $30mill Cap savings without losing a #1 !!!

  7. Lauri Markkanen makes a lot of sense for the Spurs for the right price. As long as we don't give up any of the core guys, we should pull the trigger.

  8. Trading for giannis would be a huge mistake. He is 2p and his skill set does not age well. What they have is perfect. Develop harper and when he is ready u can trade fox for what ever else u need. Trust the process. Harper can be special. Very special.

  9. Spurs R making a trade. Sochan is free agent N is hardly playing, Vassell is way overpayed as 5th best player, N no way they can draft, sign, N keep all these picks. Just in da next draft we have ATL pick swap and like 5 2nd rounders. We need a legit 3 N D BC Barnes bless his heart will not cut it as a starter N Champaigne is an inconsistent G Leaguer.

  10. Giannis would be perfect for San Antonio because nobody realizes that wemby is injured already 3 seasons in a row and his window to win is max 5 years before hes done and thats because he is 7'4, so spurs should get giannis to win somehting these 5 years

  11. Fox remains expendable, of course, but why trade for Giannis when he isn't even a sure thing? Since winning the chip the Bucks have not done well in the playoffs, and some of it is on Giannis falling apart when it mattered. The Spurs can still build on the fringes like upgrades over Fox, Keldon Johnson, or Harrison Barnes. Castle is a keeper because his ceiling is much higher than what he is currently showing. He can play the role Marcus Smart played on the Celtics, but he is better than Smart at his peak.

  12. The Spurs said they wouldn't trade any of their young guys for Giannis but they never said they wouldn't trade him for Fox so that's what I would do. They're already guard heavy and the young guys have a bigger ceiling than Fox. You have the chance to give them more play time and pair Giannis with Wemby! The Spurs would be fools to pass that opportunity up.
