The Spurs Shouldn’t Be Doing This

No wemby and they still can’t lose… yeh the NBA is in trouble

  1. “Giannis, Luka, MJ – I don’t care.”
Giannis on the backside of his prime, yes agreed.
Luka probably not if the asking price was set by anyone, besides Nico.
MJ? Come on now! Are you just talking about at his current age? Because with Fox, Castle, & Harper you’d have to be crazy to say that you wouldn’t give up two of them for a 24 to 34 year old Jordan.

  2. Vassell is doing good, but KJ and HB have been carrying the Spurs this season amidst all the injuries from Fox, Castle, Harper, Kornet and Wemby. HB from the starters and KJ from the bench.

  3. those 3 guards definitely get better because they get to practice with wemby. don't think they'd fear getting blocked more in game than in practice lol

  4. Finally, another Spurs video! As always, well put together, exciting, and accurately analyzed. The game against OKC, hopefully with Wemby, is going to be awesome!

  5. The spurs without wemby rely a lot on transition scoring they just don't have a great half court offence when wemby is out but when he's is playing they have a much better half court but they can't run in transition as much so i think they will run this fast transition offence when wemby is on the bench but when he's on the court they will run more tactical plays, coming from a spurs fan btw.

  6. People were sleeping on my Spurs picking up Kornet & said they overpaid but he’s been playing his moneys worth 🤷‍♂️

And before anyone says no one said they overpaid you can google “Luke Kornet overpaid comments” it will pop up.

  7. One of the biggest reasons it's all working so well right now as well, is everyone is bought in. Looking at the win over the Lakers. So many people willing to let others take the shots, trust in their teammates. Kornet is definitely the biggest difference from last year when Wemby is unavailable

  8. I'm a big fan of Carter Bryant the spurs's "other" rookie. He's raw but an athletic, defense-first player who can score if needed. His minutes have been a little low, but he has huge potential and people should keep an eye on him more. Gonna be another big piece.

  9. The starting premise is wrong, it means Fox wasn't playing, the other guys weren't bringing it either Wemby was doing most of the offensive as well as the defensive work ( remember how this was a shitty defense the first few games…)

  10. always said vassel is a keeper for the spurs, 3 level scoring skills, solid defender, shoots 40% from 3 and hes still young

  11. Sochan such an underrated glue guy and Champagne an underrated 3nD. Keldon got great energy but makes bad plays sometimes but is so crucial to the vibes and bench

  12. Getting dunked on means nothing to the importance of the game. I remember 2007 in the regular season, Lebron had a spectacular dunk over Tim Duncan. Later that year, Lebron and the cavs would get swept by the Spurs for the title. Thats history for ya!

  13. Kornet makes a huge difference. It may not be immediately evident but he is impacting opponents offenses at the rim even when he is not blocking a shot. Not to mention he is a great screener.

Other have mentioned Keldon and Barnes already, since neither is featured in the video, but don’t forget Champaigne too. The guy fits everywhere and with any lineup, does everything the team needs, has been tenacious on D, obviously has been great as always as 3-point shooter, but this year has added playing the role of rebounder and attacking the basket, and making massive differences. He is a high bball IQ guy, is part of the young timeline of the team, is vocal managing the team on the floor, and has become everything the Spurs’ hoped Sochan would be by now. Yes- Sochan is a better defender but Champs is no pushover, and far more well rounded than Sochan, so he can be played far more as a result.

  14. Spurs have three guards who need to initiate outside and dribble penetrate, honestly vic needs to cut down on that himself and just receive the ball in the high or low post more. Not saying stop it entirely, but most of his possessions start at the 3pt line. He needs a more balanced mix or the offense is going to really clog up

  15. Clearly they should trade Wemby he’s just holding them back. Might as well ship him to Golden State and let Steph mentor him for a few years 😬😂😭😭😭😭😭

  16. In a perfect Spurs fan world they would've drafted Jalen Duren instead of Jeremy Sochan 🤯

  17. Great video, it's when they got Hakeem the support he needed and he snatched those two ships up fast. 92-93-94 rocket precedent is real now.

  18. It's pathetic how many draft picks need to be thrown their way it's kinda hard not to win when you have that many top 3 picks and all stars
