WILL CAVS TRADE DARIUS GARLAND? CAN TEAM TURN IT AROUND? – 5 Good Minutes With Windy

The Cavs are really struggling right now and our guy Brian Windhorst is here to break it all down, including some Cavs and NBA trade rumors and talk.

  1. Salary business aside, for those of you who want to trade Garland: Who would you want to acquire to be our starting point guard? Trae? Ja?

  2. Altman is the problem overPAYING Garland/Allen and Hunter is a quitter…Wade! Cmon horrible too

  3. Yes al the injuries are so stressful, they could easily be like year if not for all the injuries still a lot of gamed left need to get healthy and play better against the bad teams .

  4. The cavs problem is that they don't have reliable bigs outside of Mobley. Even though the league is guard centric now, the cavs are too guard heavy. They need a reliable 5/4 who can play 20+ solid minutes a game. Ideally a starter to replace Jarrett Allen & let him become the 6th man

  5. Typical boring nothingness from the king of the suck ups. If you can move DG for any type of salary relief you do it in an instant regardless of perceived "value". Now its probably impossible to do that, but the NBA shows one thing constantly and that is that the GM's are some of the dumbest people in the world with the moves that get made yearly so there's still slight hope. To say "its early still" with this group is such BS its obscene this guys getting paid to spew this nonsense, this is the past few years playoff runs played over and over, the league knows what to do to this team. And lets say they turn it around and win 25 in a row, then what? Are they going to say "see, I told you so" and then they just get smoked in round 1 this time or at best another round 2 shameful exit that everyone knows will happen. Just admit that this "core 4" is a disaster and needed to be "blown up" 2 years ago. And while they at it, stop including a role player in any cores going forward.

  6. I was watching that game last night and at one point the camera panned over to the Cavs bench and DG, Nance , and some other guys were laughing and enjoying themselves whilst being down 20 points to the Bulls. Glad they're at least having a good time!

  7. The issue isn't Garland. Yes, I'd trade him if you can. But the issue for this team is what it has been. They are soft, lack grit and toughness, and the two guys most responsible for that (Allen and Mobley) refuse to deal with it in the off-season. I said that I would know how this season would go when I saw Mobley and Allen in pre-season. When I saw them come back as the same, skinny, frail players as before, I knew they were screwed. Jarrett Allen needs to play at 10-15 lbs. heavier than what he is. Evan Mobley needs to play at 240 lbs. or more. Neither of them are close to that, and they get pushed around and bullied all the time. Then, you add to that Darius Garland at about 180 lbs., and you have a team that is putrid defensively. They lack heart, and you can't really do much with that. Donovan Mitchell can score 50 a game, and they're still gonna lose because they don't care enough to get better and stronger. I'm out on this team as it's constructed. I've seen enough to know I've seen enough.

  8. When has garlands value ever been high?

    2022 before Mitchell?
    All star Break last year?

Other than that he’s AWLAYS injured and had low value.

We were saying the same thing after his jaw injury after his eye injury etc.

That’s where windys argument falls completely through.

  9. Teams figured out they only have to play defense against the Cavs at the rim or 3 point line. The teams that are winning actually take the wide open mid range. The Cavs continuously pass up open mid range for highly contested shots in the paint or a 3 pointer. Of course you're going to slump if that's all you shoot. It's a coaching problem.

  10. a few good players this season besides don. JT and merrill (even tho he doesn't play)

  11. The Cavaliers are clearly in a shooting slot. I don’t know how to fix it or when they get fixed, but it’ll be nice when they do fix it and shoot like they did last season or something close to it.

  12. I feel bad for Donovan Mitchell bruh 😢sorry g. Trade Garland Allen and d wade for some multiple picks and possibly another all star

  13. Cavs should trade Donovan. Hugh value. See if there's somewhere he is with that has a return they'd like. This team isnt winning a chip. Best to blow it up. Im sure they held it together because Celtics, Bucks and Pacers are crippled but at this point the page sooner than later.
