What do we KNOW about the Orlando Magic? Injuries hid the TRUTH about this team and their needs
The Orlando Magic have seen their starters play together in just 11 games and fewer than 120 minutes. So what do we really know about this Magic team? How close have we seen them to their ceiling?
Orlando’s starters have dominated their minutes as the third-best lineup that has played at least 100 minutes together. The Magic have a top-10 offensive and defensive rating and are among the top 10 in many other four factor categories.
The Magic may be a sleeping giant ready to pounce and climb the standings in the coming weeks.
That does not mean they are perfect. They still need to improve their shooting and they will certainly be hunting in the trade deadline for ways to improve without compromising their identity.
Until then, the team must survive with its next-man-up mentality.

What are the Orlando Magic's biggest needs to think about ahead of the trade deadline?
JI’s contribution off court is probably huge, but I’m not sure if we should stay with that heavy money.
This team cant stay healthy. Thats what we know for sure.
The magics biggest need to strongly consider ahead of the trade deadline is to move Jonathan Isaac for Draft capital, and putting more trust in a second unit involving Jase, Jett, Anthony black, Tristan and Goga. Once Suggs, and franz gets healthy.
JI, need to watch film of himself before he got hurt.. stop allowing coach to take you kinda out of what made you because everyone in the league is not a jump shooter.run your picks a little better.. roll to the basket better plus be ready for the ball.. you have fans questioning about your pay only because besides on defense you are solid but on offense you be looking confused about what you can do to help…you are a rim man alley hoop , put back on offense man.. not a big time shooter.. if he practices shooting 300 freethrows a day, I promise he he become a better shooter definitely from mid range…
Phillip I disagree with the idea we need to go get shooters, I think we need to encourage Jase and Jett along with Anthony black to play more aggressive and confident not deferring the ball.
I think if you invest in Jase, Jett and Noah now early they will be fine for playoffs.
Just need health
Klay would be nice for spot minutes. Unfortunately, Nico is not in charge anylonger…😂
I'm not sure how much we need shooting as much as we need to change our strategies on how we move the ball. If you don't expect the ball because youre always watching iso ball half the time with players that you know most likely will take the shot…. You're not prepared and chances are you're not in rhythm. Probably one of the reasons shooters come here and seem to "lose their touch". … Especially spot up shooters. So…. For me… We gotta evaluate after making some changes to how the players move the ball… Before just getting another shooter, unless we are talking about a shooter that can do it off the dribble.
Placing Tyus Jones on a court where we still run at least 2 other ballhandlers that will get much of the usage will result in a disaster if he is not shooting well…. Because he's definitely not adding on the defensive end. If we had a bench squad of Jones, black, TDS, JI, and Moe…. He can do his orchestrating of the offense with some great defenders around him. But as a tertiary "shooter" with bad defense … He will be a negative impact most of the time unless he is rolling from the 3 point line.
Bleacher-reports last proposal was franz for garland one for one. I think its time to recognize that this is not an valid Source..
I cant take tyus defenders seriously anymore
Jared McCain would be my top target if Philly is open to it considering the depth they have at guard – aside from that, another target who I like whose value should be low is Jordan Hawkins. But we need to replace JI as well. I really like Jase, but I would have drafted Danny Wolf there. I would have drafted Wolf in the lottery. That said, Jase needs to get more run than Tyus at this point, and I was a fan of the Tyus signing, but he has been extremely disappointing.
