Jeannie didn’t want to raise a banner either until Adam Silver shoved it down her throat and the Lakers were clowned for it. How many times did they play the Kobe “we only hang championship banners” and mocked the Lakers for raising a Cup banner. So now he sends these schills out to peddle shame on the Knicks?
Absolutely not. The Cup is good for the NBA. That doesn't mean a storied franchise like the Knicks has to treat it like a division or conference title, let alone a Championship. If it were up to me they wouldn't hang banners for division or conference titles either.
