The Sixers lose to the Nets 114-106 in a stinker. Tyrese Maxey and Jared McCain couldn’t hit any shots and the entire offense was stagnant. Joel Embiid had a nice statline with 27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks… but the team played much slower with him back on the floor. So it is definitely fair to wonder whether or not the Sixers have an identity crisis. And how do they optimize the big three of Maxey, Embiid, and George when they are all playing together? The sixers have a Joel embiid and Paul George problem and no one wants to admit it! When they are on the bench the young guns play that run and gun game that's almost impossible to stop. That's why they beat the Knicks and the Mavs on back to back nights. Maxey can't play with Embiid and PG because his style of play is up tempo! It's unfortunate that they have so much invested in these two old guys that the sixers don't have a choice but to play them. So their problem isn't an identity problem but more so an investment problem!!
