This Rookie Makes NBA Superstars Look Lazy
Hugo Gonzalez isn’t putting up eye-catching numbers, yet he keeps finding himself on the floor for a winning Boston Celtics team. This video takes a closer look at how the Spanish rookie carved out a role in Joe Mazzulla’s rotations that goes beyond the box score.

WE GOT ANOTHER GREAT PLAYER FROM EUROPE , THE A LOT GREAT WHITE PLAYERS IN LAEGUE TODAY
This kind of player making the stars games easy
I SEEN THIS WHITE KID PLAY BEFORE ,
Hugo arrived, joined two other young, lanky defenders in Josh Minott and Jordan Walsh, and the three of them are game changers for us on the defensive end. The fact that Hugo is 19, already seasoned as a pro in Spain, is showing America that Europe has a method that works. Such a fun year to watch as a Celtics fan, seeing these new faces adopt Celtics culture, and imagine how much better the team will be when Tatum returns to the fold. I want to see Hugo as a lifer Celtic, because he's exactly the kind of player Boston loves.
If he manages to stay consistent at 40% on catch-and-shoot threes, then it's a wrap. For now, he's a multi-tool insurance policy. His minutes may be affected once Tatum returns, but it will give the front office some flexibility in making decisions on the roster. It's not great to see guys you develop blossom into what they are on other teams – like Tony Allen or Aaron Nesmith. So I hope they keep some of this young talent together and if they do get moved it will be for game-changing players.
Great to see oooogo get some love outside the celtics circles.
I wouldn't trade Hugo for anyone. He will help the Celtics win championships. He has more potential than any rookie since J.T.
best defensive player I seen break into the league
You should do a video about Pelle Larsson as well! 2nd year late 2nd round pick from Sweden who's played really well and has seen plenty of playing time
Hi IQ, Hustle & a 6 11 wingspan is going to take him far!
Yes Hugo ha tp gp tpNABA so shoy teh talen he has. Herer in spain he has to fight every game to shoy the talen he ave. The same appens with Izan Almansa, Langarita son on. We have a lot of inecredible player, The problem is with our couches that do not belive whtat we have here
Imagine an Spanish roster with Mario Saint-superit, Hugo González, Babba Miller, Santi Aldama and Aday Mara, What a team
The spanish Dennis Rodman!!
If his shot gets better, he will be a sought after piece on any championship team.
this is a monster in the making.. love that bob ryan said his energy and effort reminds him of dave cowens.
he's only 19
This kid plays like the old NBA
Quite often it's not just indvidual athlete's talent, but the nuturling environment that matters!
He’s a super athlete
He's also big and strong for a 19 year old.
Queta name is pronounced as K-tah
He’s ROTY
White Kawhi
Many of them are Lazy.
He's from real madrid , a team with lots of former NBA players like Hezonja,Ibaka,Garuba,Campazzo so he has lots of exp
He is similar to Dan Majerle
At 19 years old, Hugo González has shown far more grit in just three months than the Hernangómez brothers, Juancho and Willy, have in all their years in the NBA. In Boston, they adore players who give their all on the court. Well, with Hugo, they'll have no doubts. He has all the intangibles. When he finds his rhythm on offense, he'll undoubtedly be their sixth man.
Hugo looked good the second he stepped on the court.
Yeah, he is Spanish and this is how basketball and every other team sports are understood in Spain…. High IQ, INTENSITY and TECHNIQUE !!!!! That´s why Spain rules in almost all team sports.
Brad Stevens did it again 😂😂
As a Celtics fan, his progression has been a huge part of this team. A lot of those younger guys r making that leap they needed to
Hugo tiene el baloncesto en la sangre. Es un jugador que gusta ver en la pista. Le deseo toda la salud del mundo. Nos hará divertirnos.
NBA stars today ARE lazy. From oldheads like Lebron, Kawhi, etc. to young superstars like Trae, Zion, Jaylen. Most of them give up on plays easily and very few hustle, let alone hustle hard
If he can turn up is offensive game , he can become a 2way nightmare, the new KL but with hard work mind set
Grande Hugo, los Celtics son infinitamente con el en pista, es un Alez Caruso mejorado
Hugo got potential to be a two way demon
Brad Stevens eye for slept on talent has been impressive for quite some time now. Even going back to his college coaching/recruiting days he was finding talent good enough to get them to 2 straight national title games
I guess americansa have discovered european basketball, we actually work and play defence, like, for real.
