Its pretty obvious SGA has been improving substantially year after year over his career compared to Luka. Who has been relatively the same, so what would cause me to think that will change. I see SGA as having the ability to surpass Jordan. And Luka will be a better version of Harden, that looks like the trajectory for them

I usually agree with your assessment, but this time i think there are certain intangibles that are also in play.
Tha whole squad built around Shai is perfectly balanced which also reduces the extra load that luka has to carry. I (to certain extent) agree with whatever defensive lacuna that luka has but surround him with a squad as perfect as Shai and i say he would do better than shai in every aspect. Defensive schemes are usually work in sync. Small misses in a great defensive team would not be highlighted or even be considered an error. But same small small aberrations in a poorly built team would cost turnovers. In my opinion the overall the true shooting percentage of Luka would drastically increase with a squad so perfectly built like OKC.
I think while making the call of putting shai above luka (even marginally) you have erred in taking into account these factors. Would love to see how you think these factors pans out in actual scheme of things and Luka’s individual performance. Would love to see your assessment of this. It's also the other way around. Put SGA on the Lakers and let him run the offense as the ball dominant type as Luka. Shai would average in the 40s & 10+ assist without question. And you also get higher efficiency, solid defense and a better record
