Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach Kenny Atkinson spoke with the media following a 126-124 loss to the New York Knicks on December 25, 2025 at Madison Square Garden.
This team is too talented to not be a top 4 seed all season in the weak eastern conference. They were a 1 seed last season and only lost a few players to free agency I think
Mr. Krabs: This Cavaliers loss is all Reise’s mother fault, and this is because she decided to ruin Christmas for our beloved Cleveland Cavaliers! Our Cavaliers were having fun in the today’s game, and then Reise’s mother decided to ruin the fun by calling him and letting him know that it’s time to eat! I don’t know how many times I have to tell Reise’s mother that there should strictly be NO eating during Cleveland Cavaliers games, yet that’s something that she still can’t get inside her head! When is Reise’s family going to stop ruining the fun for our beloved Cavaliers?!
I'm tired of people dogging on Cleveland especially after a game like this. Yes, we lost, but it was an amazing Christmas showing and Cleveland will be fine if they keep their heads up, work on what they need to, and try their hardest.
Mitchell trying to play hero ball at the end of games never helps the Cavs. Knicks played the right way and executed at the end of the game. Same thing happened to us against Pacers last year.
This guy is talking like they’re a young, up and coming team… and not the prohibitive favorite coming out of the east when the season started, and in the 2nd apron. What’s up with that?
I feel like this game unfortunately sums up this cavs team. Good for most of the game, but then fold when it matters the most. Close out a game? Nope, get flustered and choke. Personally, I’m expecting another early playoff exit.
Lonzo is so bad, get him outta here. Play cpj before him.. Allen is too weak we need a big physical big. Also the refs were terrible today. But rotations were bad
I guess maybe I saw a different game today. While the Cavs loss was disappointing, I walked away encouraged. Defense was pretty good. The Cavs had multiple double digit leads. Yes, they need to figure out how to avoid the lulls on offense, but besides that, given our team just started playing better this week, the effort was there, and we're right there. New York has been playing better lately, so not surprised they pulled it off. I'm encouraged with the progress.
In my opinion this goes down as an acceptable loss, a performance that gives me hope… We beat New York all 4 times last year, and they (not us) made it to the ECF, so there's that…
Why is this 7th year worthless player Dean Wade either starting or playing major (around 30) minutes per game for the Cavaliers. What the hell is the Cavaliers head coach doing. Plus under this head coach the Cavaliers have become one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, they are giving up in or around 120 pts per game.

Cavs should've won today but kept blowing multiple leads. This loss is on Atkinson. Why did he only play Zo 13 minutes?
