Tyler Kolek Just Forced a Rotation Change… The Knicks Have a Real Problem Now

Tyler Kolek just made the Knicks’ rotation a real conversation.
After his massive performance in the Christmas Day comeback, Kolek’s emergence is forcing New York to rethink minutes, especially with Deuce McBride nearing a return.

The Knicks erased a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit behind Jalen Brunson, Jordan Clarkson, Mitchell Robinson, and a fearless Tyler Kolek, who continues to prove he belongs in real rotation minutes.

In this video, I break down:
• Why Kolek’s role is no longer temporary
• How the rotation tightens when Deuce comes back
• What this means for the Knicks’ guard minutes moving forward
• And why this “good problem” could shape the rest of the season

This isn’t about hype, it’s about reality. The Knicks have decisions to make.

  1. It’s over for deuce unfortunately in NY.. they’ll trade him likely at the deadline cause we don’t have the minutes to distribute to all of these guys

  2. This is actually a good thing letting kolek run point and Duece being a straight scorer it fits very well

  3. Deuce is the only player on the team that can guard the other teams guards. Og, Mikal, and Hart are terrible at guarding them.

  4. Deuce will stay in the rotation. The question is will he be traded at the deadline. He's due a big payday but don't know how the Knicks can pay him so they may trade him to not end up with nothing.

  5. Minutes for Kolek point, and McBride giving Josh Hart a spell is a great place to be.
As long as coach Brown can keep everyone singing kumbaya. Jordan Clarkson is exciting, from the NBA cup game, to last nights come back. Its definitely building. Finding rest for the front court too…..
Coach Brown has his hands full. But in a good way.
I like Thibs, but this is way better!

  6. I think Mike brown should move duece to the sg position have kolek be the back of for brunson and lower brunson mins just a little so like what okc do to shai kolek prove he can handle it just a suggestion

  7. Tyler can hit from outside, penetrate, and make plays that remind me of John Stockton, even Magic. He's only in his second year but has the poise and court sense of a veteran. They'd better keep him.

  8. The NY Knicks already got themselves a good backup PG, Maybe a future elite starting PG that's "Tyler Kolek".
The Knicks really have four SGs (Deuce, Clarkson, Landry, Hart). The only elite Knicks starting PG is "Jalen Brunson.

  9. It's not a real problem, it's great problem to have cause we now have a coach that's smart enough to figure it out while trusting the players he puts on the floor in any given situation!

  10. You put Deuce at the 2 and Hart goes to 3. Shamet at 2 and Clarkson at 2 and 3. Its not hard let Kolek Back up Brunson and the ball moves as if Brunson never left the court when Kolek is in.

  11. The best thing to happen to Kolek was the Knicks getting rid of Thibs. You would've never seen this if he was still the coach.

  12. This wasn’t something they didn’t see coming. NBA cup showed us this. This is how you get to a 10 man rotation. Kolek made the trade game easy by playing his ass off and now we have Deuce able to play more in his natural role as a catch and shoot guy. Even last year when the two played together it worked well. Thibs was the issue.

Brown has shown to be flexible and apt to try new things out. Let’s see what happens.

  13. not really Deuce is more of a shooting guard, you can play them together is which now is more deadly because Kolek is now a real threat, no biggie no problem.
