They need to get that signature win against one of the Knicks, Thunder, Nuggets or Lakers. Going 7-0 for the rest of the year with a big win over lakers last would give us another 11 game win streak and put us at 28-5. That“s when perople will take us seriously.
From the Bad Boys teams to the Going to Work Crew, the national media has NEVER given the Pistons the respect they deserve, so don't think they'll start now. Our guys we'll use that for fuel.
The Strength of Schedule argument is dumb. They have beaten every west team they have faced, they aren't playing the weakest teams in the east (Hawks, Sixers, and Boston are good teams). If we look at the Thunder, they have faced a super easy schedule also. The media is looking for ways to somehow not give anything to the pistons because they want the Knicks, they want Boston, or the Lakers.
Its because michael jordan still hates detroit
Even when we won in 2004 nobody gave us attention or covered us or respected us
Point differential is one of the best determiners of future success. The Pistons were about +5.6 for most of the year, and no doubt they have a very favorable schedule for the first half of the season. The media isn't saying the Pistons aren't good, they're saying the Pistons are not a typical Conference Standings leader. It's an accurate observation. The Pistons first blow out win of season was the recent Hawks game. That's nuts. I think we're being overly defensive, we have the record of a 65 win team. People are just saying that's probably not real. The Pistons aren't winning 60 games unless they get a lot better for the 2nd half the season. I don't expect the Pistons to be 60-wins good, they're not that good… Yet. The media is correct, no need to be butt hurt
That's okay.. we're used to being underrated.. but when we show out, the look on their faces is priceless!!
Besides cavs game, the point defence of others for loss is a grand total of 14 points. And we are 14 and 4 when it's gets to clutch time, this team is great defensively, great depth, cade is playing at the highest level and we are closing strongly. This team is legit and who gives a fuck that national media is clueless, the always have been. Detroit vs Everybody
I'm been a fan since 1974 they never give Pistons the love they deserve from Flint town
Brunson was really the only player that called the media out for this while giving all eastern conference teams their flowers.
They don't like the way the pistons play ball hard-nosed defensive basketball team
Let em keep disrespecting and underestimating us. Detroit vs everybody.
Honest observance,& only an opinion….
It's STYLE OF PLAY. Plain and simple. Take any Piston era in which they contender for, or won championships(late 80's early 90's early/ mid 2k's) Detroit won with suffocating physicality with really good,& a couple GREAT players who embraced the team concept over individual play,& Glamour. It doesn't resonate with a lot of " common" NBA fans, but it does moreso with basketball purists. Those that know….know that the Pistons are on the cusp of another title run.
This isnāt true
Pistons getting lots of praise on msm
The News does not talk about the Pistons at all. After a long win streak they talk about o k c or LA LAKERS that's it…. Maybe. New york every now and then.
ALLL Detroit teams get boned. ESPN, who lets be honest control the narrative of the major sports in this country, donāt give a F about the pistons or any other Detroit team. Itās ridiculous. Fuck ESPN.
I disagree with you guys and I am a huge Pistons fan. I think they will get more respect when they get more than 1 star player. They only have Cade. Yes, they are deep, but when you talking contender, you need at least a proven 2nd scorer next to your star. I love the progress Duren has made and he will continue to get better, but the way he scored is easily guarded by teams without a jumper. We dont know if Ivey can be a number 2 scorer. It comes down to in the playoff in half court sets will they have enough scoring and shooting. Might be great for regular season, but not for the playoffs.
subbed for the penjamin rip at the end. GO PISTONS!!!!
What makes the Pistons so dangerous, that these national analyst just canāt understand is Pistons donāt live and die by the 3 like a lot of NBA teams do, which is huge when it comes to the playoffs cause thatās when the game starts slowing down and thatās whatās gonna separate the Pistons from everybody else.
Top 3 MVPs in no particular order:
Cade
Luka
Jokic
This isnāt a new development. The NBA is clearly better when the Pistons are good but the league and media hates it.
We have to beat top teams
Detroit vs. ERRBODY!!! Funk em!! ā¤ļøš
I've been watching Detroit sports for over 40 years. And the disrespect has been going on the entire time. You will never see ESPN cover Detroit like they cover New York or Boston or Los Angeles.I get there, bigger markets, but the disrespect is been there. And the only time they ever really talked about them was when they had extremely long losing streak. And I'd rather keep it that way , I don't want detroit lions , I don't want detroit pistons , and I don't want any detroit tigers or the red wings coming out of their mouth because it's usually disrespectful detroit versus everybody
The pistons to the national pundits aren't household names yet besides cade, anytime they bring up the pistons they talk about cade and " a bunch of guys"
Cleveland was the only blowout
Underrated? That's okay. Sshhsshhsssh.
I think itās always an advantage to be undervalued, so this is great for the Pistons. What all those people say means less than nothing. Comparing Cade and Brunson, Cade is better now, and is still improving. Brunson is limited by his size; heās not great on defense. He and Luka have a huge media advantage playing in New York and for the Lakers. Frankly, Iāll be more concerned when they do gain acceptance, because that might be the sign the run is over! I think they like the underdog vibe. Detroit vs Everybody
The only value to the strength of schedule talk is, if the Pistons lose more games when the schedule gets harder, you canāt freak out. In the end, you play all the teams, and your success is determined by how you do for 82 games. I do think thereās more really good teams in the West, so the East may have it easier over all. Thatās been the case since Jordan ruled the land. The East will have one or two really good teams, the West, 6 or 7. I think that should be addressed, but thereās no asterisk for the Pistonās great start.
Look, I havenāt seen any national media people at this point say the Pistons arenāt legit. Early in the season, sure. By now, people recognize we are in the discussion. But I also think itās perfectly reasonable take to believe that the Knicks are the best team in the East.
The Pistons have more depth, the Knicks have more talent.
I want nothing more than to see the Pistons win the East this year. However I can also acknowledge that we are probably a move away from overtaking the Knicks. Cade is spectacular, but the Pistons need a #2 scorer that they can count on game in and game out, in crunch time, especially in the playoffs. This weakness becomes very apparent against quality opponents. #2 by committee can work in the regular season but it doesnāt usually work in the playoffs. After what we saw from KAT last playoffs, we know he can be that guy for the Knicks to carry the offensive load when Brunson isnāt. KAT hit so many clutch buckets in crunch time during the playoffs. Cade needs that sidekick as well. If the Pistons make a deal for that kind of guy, all bets are off. Until then, itās a perfectly reasonable take to think the Knicks are still better.
Jordan the Pistons are undeserving Champions Isaiah Thomas will tell you š¹šš Rest in the Good News šļø okay bye
