Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach Kenny Atkinson spoke with the media following a 117-110 loss to the Houston Rockets on December 27, 2025 at Toyota Center.
Kenny is a good coach. I can’t for the life of me figure out why our core is struggling this much. The young guys are playing their hearts out but the main group getting paid HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to play aren’t. It’s insane to me
The coach doesn't know what his team is. He keeps saying I don't know what the problem is with the team. How do they keep letting him be in charge of the team?
What a piss poor showing from the Cavs. I turned it off after their first four possessions. Same old crap. Jacking up threes and no offensive rebounds.
Yall blaming the coach but loved him last year when he got coach of the year. The biggest problem is rebounding and defensive effort. Plus the loss of a 6ft 5in facilitator coming off the bench in Ty Jerome hurts us. I think really believe he was the reason why last year was so special. I watched every game and would see this dude making everyone better and also taking over when garland and Mitchell would be the streaky players they are. This year we don’t have that.
Koby Altman preaches patience and internal growth. Yeah that works if you have the right personnel but it is becoming more apparent that this current roster structure doesn't have the DNA to really build on becoming a contender for years to come. Playes and Coach are trying to find their identity when it's really obvoius that their identity has been soft and it's been consistent after all these years. The porblem with Kenny is that his ATO plays sucks, substitution pattern is questionable, no adjustments whatsoever. Offense is all about jacking 3's and the most damning of all is that he doesn't held players accountable. The players that should have been traded long ago with a high value then cannot be traded right now even if you wanted to due to injuries and their value right now is very low plus that 2nd apron is also strapping them to make a move.
Coach Kenny isn’t the problem, this is the same guy who won 64 games and coach of the year. The problem is the personnel on the roster. This group has had two coaches. At what point do players get held accountable for their poor performances?
It's GM Dan Gilbert fault just look at the front court what a mess 8 players on the team that are 6'6 or smaller should have signed Tomlin to a deal before Sam

Kenny will be fired very soon, Johnnie Bryant is our next head coach, and Jarret Allen is as good as gone. That's our "soft" reset.

3 of Core 4 are soft as Charmin in their own unique way. CANNOT keep rolling out 3 soft players even if they have skill. At least 1 has to GO!
