When Udoka was fired, Mazzulla found out he would be the head coach with zero notice. Yes, he had a ridiculous roster to work with, but as a Celts fan I've enjoyed watching him become more flexible and creative and especially, figure out how to use the fringe talents of his players to make them effective and win in the margins. An amazing watch so far this season!
Joe should at least be top 3 COTY (along with mitch johnson and jb bickerstaff) if not outright win the award. Hes the only one with a top team with his best player injured for the whole season and losing 5 of their top 8 rotation players from the previous season.
re jaylen shooting 40% from mid last year he did play half the season with a torn meniscus, hes had number good mid range seasons before in the 45-50% range, tho obvs the volume and efficiency this year is still crazy particularly considering hes the #1 option, but its not quite the leap it seems if you just look at last season
Jaylen isn’t as good as Jokic but in my opinion they are close when it comes to being an MVP and putting their teams in a good position without a ton to work with.
