We dream of drafting a guy who can consistently give us 25 pts and 5 rebs, time to wake up and realize we have that with a 27 year old MPJ. The future could quite possibly be now. Enjoy it.

This was the game that has officially changed my stance from pro tank to now I think we develop this core. These guys have much more connectivity than anyone was expecting. Jordi seems to be perfect for this roster too.
Stay put no trade just role with a middle of 1st round pick or maybe move up by offerimg some extra picks we have.
Damn, 3 games ago they were saying the Nets Roster was Horrible.. Got to love the professional analysis.. Nets need to trade MPJ and Cam Thomas if they still want to tank..
The issue is that it was always covered as a tank. No one could possibly envision a world where the 5 1st round picks we drafted were actually supposed to be contributors. Cause theyre too focused on pigeon holing them to a position before they play a game.
The plan was never to lose every game. Sean marks trades for his pick back so that in the case that they do lose every game then they can be covered. But the intention was always to develop the rookies to the best of our ability this season. People on the outside saw that as tanking. In an ideal scenario we would have all 5 rookies in the rotation and learning how to win and then we have all the cap space in the world to be as FLEXIBLE as possible.
Another key word sean marks emphasized all offseason. Flexibility. That word doesnt mean having one deadset plan (to tank) and going to execute that plan at all costs. Were at a point where we valued flexibility. We had no certainties so why would we treat our plan for next season with such certainty? What the nets ar doing right now was always an outcome that marks knew was possible because of jordi and the staff.
Whether it continues or not, there is absolutely no reason to fuck with it so u can have 14% chance instead of a 9% chance at someone that ends up playing in washington dc anyway. It isnt what the thunder, pistons, or the spurs did. All that would do is send a message to the current team that the GM doesnt think hes good enough at his job to find someone that can contribute to winning unless hes picking in the top 5. If the players are exceeding the standard that was set for them then its time to look in the mirror and raise your own standard.
This team has my head spinning. Do they tank or grow this core? Are they better off teaching these guys to win or go for a top 3 pick next year? I don't know what's better. I think I'm going to sit back and enjoy this team and trust Marks knows what to do
I would still temper expectations. Thomas does this everytime off injury and then goes back to the same ball hog crap. Also this is still a young team we don’t need to overrate expectations
