GG just turned 21 and has so much potential to grow. If GG continues to improve defensively and lets his offense flow within the system, then ideally he would be the starting 3 over Jaylen Wells.

GG is good in low expectation scenarios against rat teams. He has to show the ability to be a role player in a high leverage situation. Meaning when Ja, Edey. etc. are there and we’re playing a top 6 team in West, can he be a contributor? Boxing out and rebounding? Defending individually and in team concepts? Moving the ball? Not over dribbling?
I like how Small looks out there, he's quick with great vision, and at the point perimeterdefender. Just need to work atbgetting his own buckets. But looks good, deserves to get near 20 minutes a game with all the point guards out!
Why is Ja is keep getting knee and ankle problems 😒 😑 is it a trainer problem? The shoes? Or workout?
Ggs performance is encouraging. We need him to consistently take good shots and play defense to stay in the rotation
Outside of injuries, GG is getting run for a potential trade package. Fully healthy roster, he doesn't see the floor IMO
GG should have been getting minutes every game, period. He is going to have mistakes and bad games.. like Wells, like Santi, etc. GG is capable of giving things others can’t.. I hope this finally changes, GG deserves the patience others have gotten.
Javon Small had 7 assists in 12 minutes and should have had more if we had hit the shots. He consistently got the ball to people in better situations vs what’s been the norm.

The Thunder and the Spurs are both a cut above the rest of the field, but anyone else is fair game for the Grizzlies. Considering the injury situation, the Grizzlies are playing as well as anyone at this point in the season. They have a real shot at finishing in the top 6. They just need to keep grinding.

My 2 cents…the Grizzlies really should give GG minutes to see where he fits in the rotation and gauge his market value. I wish that next game the coach does the unthinkable and start a line up of Spencer, Wells, Coward, GG, and J3. If just for an experimental gadget unit. TBH he is the 3rd most talented guy on the roster, he just need experience and the confidence of the coaches. Im also hoping his current playing time leads to someyhing special because you cant teach potential

I think they’re just building his trade value, and wherever he goes the Grizzlies will regret it greatly, nothing new for this franchise

Given how the season has gone, GG not getting developmental time is a crime.
Remember how I wrote that GG and OMax were in developmental timeout so they could learn more discipline and that they would come back better?
Now look at them! Both of them disciplined and efficient. They will also get a chance to do more of what makes them special but they HAD to learn how to be useful to the System first. Freedom comes when the basics are in place and can be depended on.

Gg deserves more minutes. If he doesnt get it on the grizzlies, another team will offer him the possibility. Lets take advantage to the fact that he is on the roaster.
