Gotta be one of the worst rules tbh. You win the challenge, and if they didn't call it, it would be a shot clock violation. If anything shot clock shouldn't reset or fully reset. That's actually crazy
Let say Clingan didn't catch the ball. There were still only less then a second on the clock, how they got new 24 clock (not even 14). Refs invented new rule.

While Deni had a poor shooting night (…maybe the third in a row) and was unusually bad from the line, to say that he had a "stinker" is completely missing the game. Not only is his stat line impressive, but he created just about every play the Blazers had – they just (as usual) couldn't hit their buttocks with two hands. Deni had 9 assists but officially had 21 potential assists and that doesn't include Hockey assists or plays that were created because of him being the focal point of the defense or starting a play and just doing the right thing.
You can only speculate what would happen if this team was (a) healthy and (b) had good players surrounding Deni – at the very least a couple of knock down shooters. If he was passing to Duncan Robinson for an open three rather than Clingan or Kamara or Murray or Cisoko – he would have double figure assists every game and the blazers would be putting up 15 more points per game.
In Europe this is a jump ball and the clock doesn’t reset make more sense

the jump ball foul call was a thing …. so was Detroit getting easy dunks while the Blazers bricked jump shots. Portland was +18 in Free Throw attempts, CLEARLY the refs favored the Pistons… yuuup

What happened to the love of the game? I’ve never seen a team that consistently has this many injured players. Every year since Jody and Cronin took over players seem to be injured a whole lot more. I sure hope that Tom will show some teeth and hold the players accountable who don’t want to be part of the team and organization!
