  1. I was minded towards the Mavs keeping AD through to the summer, but with the way things are going I think it's time to accept the full rebuild. Just shut down Kyrie until next season, and trade everyone apart from Cooper, PJ and Max Christie.

  2. Stein please stop with waiting until the off season getting off AD sooner rather than later is the best option. If we get cap Relief so that we can sign SiSi we definitely need to do that. We need to all trades big and small ones to become younger and continuity.

  3. Stein keeps re-emphasizing that AD can be traded in the summer with more options available. He keeps saying we can’t rush into a trade. Well dude, at what point does he get REALLY hurt, then he can’t be moved at all? That’s my issue with waiting. There’s a huge risk to waiting.

  4. If you trade or get rid of AD what was all this turmoil for?. Just sell the team already. Leave the city the name of the Mavs, and take them to Vegas already.

  5. I get waiting until the summer. But if AD stays, will they be bad enough to end up in the lottery? It's a quandary for sure.

  6. Waiting to hold a distressed asset in hopes it will ascend in value, when the asset is currently damaged and likely to continue to degrade, is insanity.

  7. If there is no fair option I’m fine with waiting to the summer. The Hawks are the ideal trade partner. Give the Mavs the Pelicans pick, take D-Lo, Exum as well and it’s a deal.

  8. As a Hawks fan the Hawks have lost their mind trading for this guy. It literally makes no sense for the Hawks to do something like this. Some in the Hawks fanbase is to stupid to realize this knowing that this guy is a walking medical facility. Some Hawks fans want this twenty-year old second player out of town so bad.

  9. I’d say almost zero percent chance Davis declines the player option. He won’t touch 60 million on a new deal because the guy can’t stay in the court.

  10. Agreed waiting is best. Creates more of a Market. More teams will have cap space to create a bidding war. ATL really fits what they want/need back the most out of anybody in the League. You wait, Unless we can get ATL to send us KP and his expiring. Risacher/Newell/ Salary filler and can somehow talk them into that NO 1st this year you immediately jump on it. That would free up 20M next year and give you young unproven prospects to take flyers on with the odds and potential to land 2 picks in the TOP 3-10 with that NO pick in this years draft. Could you imagine being able to land a Peterson and Dybantsa/Boozer/Wilson/Quaintance/Peat or a Dybantsa and Brown Jr./Flemmings/Philon/Acuff to pair with Flagg and Kyrie??? Your rebuild would be instantly done and you would roll into 2026 ready to complete a top the West immediately… tons of caproom potentially freed up too. Especially if they can move Klay, Gaff, Martin at the deadline. You would gain additional future 2nd round picks too, besides Gaff. Gaff should be able to net you a 1st from someone and then you would have the ability to chase a pretty big fish in the offseason to add with that 40-50M additional cap room you get by moving off of them. Could pair another Damn near Max player to complement/ pair with all of your young studs and Kyrie going forward if you choose? Or you could just ride it out and let them grow and develop behind Kyries leadership/mentorship. Either way your Franchise would be in an amazing spot going into the future.

  11. Mavericks are being smart. Teams are probably hoping that the Mavs are being stupid and they can get ad for nothing. Like they'll probably act like they're doing us a favor by taking ad for some expiring and then the moment they get him in the building they'll be throw a parade. An example, we don't want lamelo ball because if it's injured history but if we got him for Clay Thompson and Max Christie.. we will be jumping for joy and all that injury stuff will go out the window.

  12. Young will have more value in the offseason than Davis. Young can be traded in the summer and they can get something good back. AD’s value isn’t going up, it’s going down. He isn’t on an expiring contract. Why would keep Davis in a season where you have your pick and then trade him in the summer going into a season where you don’t? That’s poor management.

  13. Playing AD every other game until the summer is fine with me. You reduce his injury risk and soft tank.

  14. Nico got exactly what was advertised. A great player that is often unavailable. It's proven over and over. Whoever trades for him will receive the same. So why?

  15. ATL is not considering the NOP pick in any AD deal. Risacher (20) may be in discussions but highly unlikely to be moved for a soon to be 33-year-old oft-injured big man.

If a deal is made, it is likely something like Porzingis, Kennard, Newell and a (non-NOP) first-round pick.

It may not be best case, but DAL cannot consider the Luka deal as a part of this move, as it is already sunk cost. This is an independent transaction to build for the Flagg era.

  16. AD needs to go to whoever will take him…he's brittle and getting more so every day…
