Maybe they should have kept the guy that was decent at rebounding just an idea
Sengun didn't even play and adams went down
Only watched a few minutes of the game. Congrats for siakam being 9th in east in all star voting…
What's good with bol bol. Would pacers give him any type of chance?
SIMPLE, FIRE RICK CARLISLE
Peter hit two nasty catch and shoot 3’s, Jarace finally looked like he’s developing as a player, Furphy is playing very well with high efficiency (albeit on low volume) , and Kam jones is getting real rotation minutes? Even if we aren’t winning we have something to be excited for!
So I ask myself what motivates a particular player? Is Jarace motivated next level by being noticed in addition to the competitive drive! Does he need to be against a high level opponent (like Durant), before he puts in that required extra effort! If things do not start to turn around for this team soon, then Yikes…even for next year. They need to get a starting Centre…period! No matter what everyone else (other positions) does or doesn't do, that piece just needs to be fixed sooner than later. Patience for the younger players (even for me for Jarace LOL), but the centre is non negotiable IMO.
The scary thing is that Aaron Nesmith is back is playing about as well as you would expect and they're still getting rocked. They need to figure out the deal with Mathurin. Sit him if his foot needs to heal. I mean it doesn't seem to matter who's out there. They get destroyed almost every time out. On the bright side I thought Kam looked decent out there. I can see him getting batter. I think his floor might be Arron Holiday. I do see some dishing talent there.
Jarace just really wanted to go at KD. He hit a 3 in his face as well. Let's go Jarace. Wake up!!
As crazy as it sounds I saw a lot to like in that game. We finally have some lineups that can compete, they just need to stay healthy long enough to learn each other.
Also I thought this was a great 12 point game for Jarace, he finally looked like the Jarace Walker I thought I would see this year.
I love Nembhard, but it just seems like his mid range, and even close shots, just rattle out more than in. He had so many that were 90% down and then found a way out. In a game here and there, that’s to be expected, but as the losses pile up and it happens more often than not, it just makes me wonder if those shots should be further down on the pecking order. He’s missed so many layups this year. and so many 3s that are on line but short cuz he takes them 4ft behind the line. If he could shore up his finishing (which may just come naturally as his role shifts back to normal 🤞), it would help a ton. Seeing him and Nesmith together did show sparks of what chemistry looks like – a foreign vision this year lol
I actually like that we seem to be experimenting with line ups now with guys getting healthy. We are seeing who fits and plays well together. This is the first time I have started to think we might be leaning into the tank which I wasn’t sure we’d ever do. I think we are experimenting with line ups now and we will see a few wins stack up at the end up the season after we decide on best line ups and then all the tankies will be up in arms that they are winning a few games.
I feel like we're close to identifying a championship team, it's just not the one anybody thought it would be. Same group, different alignment.
Your for-sure starters when healthy are Haliburton, Nesmith, Siakam. Your second group can be one of the best in the league – McConnell, Nembhard, Furphy, Toppin, Huff.
Your fourth starter is probably your draft pick. Let's say Peterson, just because he fits in to the other wing spot.
You have Mathurin, Walker, Jones, whomever else to mix for a trade for a center. Let's say Kessler.
Now your rotation is Haliburton/Peterson/Nesmith/Siakam/Kessler + McConnell/Nembhard/Furphy/Toppin/Huff.
And that's a team with a window.
What has Furphy really shown? Ethan Thompson has shown more
