Atlanta Hawks Interested In Anthony Davis
Cyro Asseo breaks down a major NBA trade development after Marc Stein reported on December 28, 2025, that the Atlanta Hawks have emerged as a legitimate suitor for Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis. While Atlanta’s interest is real, Cyro examines the central front-office question: how aggressive are the Hawks truly willing to be in constructing a competitive offer?
The video dives into the financial and strategic hurdles facing Atlanta, including Davis’s massive $58.5 million salary for next season, his looming max-extension eligibility, and the Hawks’ firm stance that Trae Young would not be included in a deal. Cyro also analyzes the growing league belief that Atlanta may be more open than ever to a Trae Young trade—and how that uncertainty complicates any Davis pursuit if Young’s salary remains on the books.
On the asset side, Cyro evaluates a potential framework involving former No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher alongside expiring contracts like Kristaps Porziņģis and Luke Kennard, while questioning whether Atlanta has the draft capital required to convince Dallas to move its defensive cornerstone mid-season.
Catch the full breakdown on the Hawks’ payroll risk, roster-building dilemma, and why this situation could reshape both franchises as the trade deadline approaches.

Trae is the whole fkn problem with team.
You can trade those other pieces, but Trae has to go
KP, Kennard, Risacher for AD, Naji Marshall. No picks included.
DAL will receive an offer of Porzingis, Kennard, Newell and a first-round pick (non-NOP) from ATL.
Davis is a distressed asset. It's not about what he has done but what he is likely to do in the future. With the risk baked in, this is the best DAL will get. GSW and TOR don't have better packages (unless you want to take long-term salary back). And his value will only get worse in the offseason since DAL wants to tank.
Hope not. AD is a scrub
