Why the Bulls Can’t (And Won’t) Tank This Season. Period.
Josh Giddey is out for weeks….but the Bulls still aren’t going to tank.

They've ruined my tank đ˘
Going to see the bulls vs hornets. First home bulls game i will ever go to.
Was worried about you man, good to see your ok…the injuries to Giddey and Coby will help the tank
Happy new year 2026đhappy new y'all đđđđ
My CHSO subscripton ends at the perfect time!
The Sixers did a pretty good job at tanking for a good stretch for their "process."
Lets play Buzelis at PG!
I totally agree with you. We need to spend some on some mid level super stars to build with our young core
I don't see how anyone could argue against tanking. The ownership and front office are absolutely dreadful, and there is really no hope other than landing a top 3 pick and for that player to be a future top 10 player.
Just because they can't finish with a bottom three record doesn't mean that they should not do everything they can to finish with the worst possible record. This is the 02-03 season all over again.
We need to fire Arturas Karnisovas!
when the front office wants to win the players/coaches dont give full effort (last 5 years). but if the front office finally wants to tank the players play for their contracts/play to compete. its a tough one to solve.
Who is gonna start now because giddey and white are out
They don't got to worry about tanking they don't got no good players to win. What they need is a new owner
If Billy is smart he goes to the 2 big lineup to start games with Vooch and Smith. Slide Buzelis to the 3 and start Huerter at the 2 next to Tre Jones. Those are 5 guys who can all score play competent defense, cut well, and can shoot.
Then your bench can be some combination of Collins PWill Okoro Phillips/Terry and Ayo. I really think BD is underutilizing Julian Phillips
To be honest it would be smart to just trade the exp contracts and get involved as a 3rd team in trades. I actually like the Zachary Risacher report, I would trade any of the expirings and a pick for a talent like him.
Because they have the dumbest FO and probably the dumbest Owner (i am a Bulls fan đ)
Tanking is not what it used to be. Last season the 3 teams with the fewest wins did NOT get the top 3 picks. Sure getting a top draft pick improves a team's odds of landing a start player but it's far from guaranteed. Remember that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard weren't even lottery picks. Nikola Jokic and Jalen Brunson were 2nd Rd picks and league MVP SGA went 11th overall while Anthony Bennett, Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons were all #1 overall picks. Yup.
At this point, I'm just here for an alright time, not a good time watching this team. This team is gonna stay middle of the pack for the unforseeable future and it is what it is. I'm gonna need Matas to take another step up next year though.
Was at the Bucks game Saturday and the team appears to do the best they can with what they have. Sooo, yeah this'll be a Play-in exit to the Heat for the 4th year in a row.
Are you serious? The Bulls donât have to tank. The team is so TRASH weâll end up bottom 5 naturally. This team is nowhere close to be competitive
Good video but remember atl n dallas got a top pick without fully tanking. We jus need to miss the playoffs to have a chance at a top 4 pick. This draft class is stacked. If we trade coby or tre for a young big or picks then we buy out vuÄ, thats the mini-tank we need
Watch the Pacers finish bottom 3 and then win the lotto, get Cameron Boozer, and win a title next season with a fully healthy Halliburton and Nesmith playing along Boozer. Also it sounds like this channel is justifying perpetual mid. You really seeing this FO doing anything to improve this team to the point where we challenge for a title? Now look at the current top 4 of OKC, Spurs, Pistons, and Knicks, and how they got to this point? Detroit was actively awful and now they are top of the East. The fact we didnât tank from day 1 is reason to fire AKME into the sun.
This FO canât do good trades with any sort of confidence, canât sign free agents with a weak FO class coming up, how else will they improve? If you canât think they can draft then there are no roads to improve and we have to clear the two clowns AK and ME out of the Advocate Center.
We'll never tank. AK too proud.
I respectfully disagree. The Bulls MUST tank (not deliberately of course) in order for the Bulls to get a high draft pick.
okay lilbro, don't tank and stay like this forever, lmao
All roads lead to 39-43, no direction at all. Their âall in letâs winâ mentality leads to around 39 wins every year. This is why everybody laughs at the Bulls, biggest joke in the NBA
Just get rid of Vooch Coby and Billy. The front office. Don't want a tank but I am so done with these losers. Should have been gone years ago
I hear you man, but just being in the play-in tournament AGAIN is so boring and not worth this team to tread down the same path for the next 5 years again….at least with Atlanta they have the Pelicans pick and they could trade Trae Young (more than likely he leaves in free agency) and Miami has a good culture and IS A good free agent destination….but the Bulls don't have much; the biggest issue I have with this FO, is the their hesitation on players. (like with Vuc, Coby, formerly Zach, DeMar and Lonzo) I'm not saying trade away everyone outside of Matas and Josh; but just make SOME move at all to help your team even a little. Because this cycle of "don't make trades at the deadline, hold on to players until they have no trade value, sign floor moving free agents, and pick 11th or 12th in the draft only too end a 39-40 win team in the play-in game" is not it man.
Welcome back man! Glad you got to spend time with your family during the Holidays. Glad to see you back thoughđ
bulls will tank because they dont have enough talent to level out and stay in the play in the especially after the trade deadline when teams outside of the bulls will get better
youâre right, a lot of fans donât like the direction the team is going in, bc weâve seen a lot of teams that are good now do several things to build a solid core:
be active in trades
not overvalue players
endure a fair amount of losing
the bulls are unwilling to do any of those things, so weâre just stuck in this no manâs land section of the standings. Iâm not even too excited about this years draft, but i support a tank bc we get better chances at adding to the core. Losing for the season even if it doesnât yield a #1 pick still increases the odds of a top 10 pick.
All those wins against against Atlanta was a fluke
How would you feel about the bulls emerging as a team that supplies picks and expiring contracts in an AD for Trae Young swap:
Bulls would take on Martin's 3 year 9m in return for swapping Vuc or Collins expiring for Gafford, they also buy low on Risacher swapping Kennard's expiring 11m for Huerter's expiring 18m to the Hawks. Sell low on Okoro to the mavs so they don't have to give up too many 1sts
Hawks would land AD, Huerter, and DLo with some draft capital in exchange for the buy low for Risacher
Mavs would acquire Trae and Okoro plus a first from ATL and the Portland pick via the Bulls plus an expiring contract in Vuc/Collins
It facilitates a trade the Hawks and Mavs have reported interest in doing (and reportedly are looking for an outside team to take on contracts in exchange for expiring contracts). Gafford is an athletic center that can actually run with the bulls and catch lobs. Risacher is an impactful defender shooting 35% on 8 3PA, he could be a good young player to buy low on. This of course requires the Mavs and Hawks to actually value the AD for Trae trade because the contract moving and picks are not that much, but that's the only way the bulls don't get gouged in this deal. I highly doubt the Mavs like it that much because a Trae-Kyrie backcourt isn't exactly the best path forward around Coop.
Even if the bulls try their best they will lose and thatâll ultimately lead to us falling out of the play in thankfully. As long as we develop matas this season Iâm okay with that
