SHRIVELING: Orlando Magic UNRAVEL—Why Paolo Banchero and the Magic STRUGGLE Under Pressure

The Orlando Magic’s defensive identity continues to crack after another dispiriting 121-114 loss to the Chicago Bulls. The team lacked the resilience and effort that have become the trademarks of this team.

Despite Paolo Banchero’s 31-point outing and another solid game from Anthony Black, the Magic again went silent offensively in the fourth quarter and got outworked on defense and on the glass to give the game away yet again.

The only silver lining is the apparent nearness of Franz and Moe Wagner’s return to the lineup. Their return could help the Magic right the ship.

    Another game lost by the coaching staff, they don't make adjustments based on the skill set of their players. They are too loyal to certain players despite their poor defense and poor shot selection. Jalen Suggs is injury prone because of how hard he plays, but the coaching staff keep throwing him into the fire, but they protect Jonathan Isaac by limiting minutes and giving him lots of time on the bench. Wendell Carter Jr and Paolo Banchero are two stretch power forwards that hate playing near the paint because they don't want to get hurt. Meanwhile, Goga Bitadze is more of a paint center and rim protector but spend more time cheerleading than playing basketball because they are afraid of hurting Wendell Carter's feelings. Jase Richardson plays better than Tyus Jones on both ends of the basketball court, but the coaching staff have him handing out Kool-Aid to the starters and the bench warmers. Noah Penda is an offensive rebounding machine that sits on the bench keeping the starters chairs warm, while the starters are allowing everyone to score up the middle on them at will. We need to change the coaching staff they have one of the most talented teams in the league and we are barely above .500, shaking my head

    Paolo's go-to is spinning into a crowded paint hoping for a foul.
    Effort and execution are both symptoms of unsuccessful coaching. There's enough talent on the available roster to have won a few they lost and they can't go on expecting to flip a switch right before post season every year. Happy to be wrong but time to lower expectations. Not our year this year.

    And yet another blatant missed call from the refs. Buzelis touched the ground before making that pass that converted a bucket to make it a 5 point lead.

    Vibes btwn coaches + players are so terrible. And the guys seem to avoid Mose completely.

    Im so glad I didnt spend money on a home game yet lol this team is very lost. Im saving my voice on a win streak. Haven't even won 5 in a row yet this season lol

    TBH I havent't been able to watch lately. No excitement to this team at all. Very weak minded non working team. Has anyone ever cut to the basket? team.
