  1. Lol wtf you talking about haslem. Trae took that trash team to the ECF, then what did they do? They bought in Dejounte Murray so that Trae would have to share the ball. Then Dejounte was supposed to be defensive expert and he didn't even play defense. They haven't done sh*t to build around Trae.

  2. He doesnt play defense and gets exposed, simple as that. Jalen Johnsons just a better overall player

  3. Ppl have to realize that these ultra good offensive players tend to show little effort on defense. It's better to have a two-way player who can do both pretty well than to have a player who's a liability on defense. Same issue the Lakers have with LeBron and Luka on the same team. The best teams like SA, OKC, DET, and NYK have a bunch of guys who do both. Having offensively gifted superstars isn't enough anymore because everybody in the league can shoot now.

  4. Not being funny but why does every pundit/former player always get onto Trae Young about his size. There are so many PGs in this league (currently) that are the exact same size as him or even smaller I.e Jalen Brunson, Dearon Fox, Kyrie Irving etc.

  5. tf is UD talkign about Trae has played w some the worse teams fro one of the best players in the league. Talking about winning basketball. And even still went on a huge run afew years ago.

  6. To me it's coaching. 1 guy shouldn't make your defense go down 20 spots. That's a scheme/game plan thing. I can see going down 5-10 spots but 20 is crazyyyyy

  7. What does Udonis mean winning? Dude took Atl as an underdog to conference finals, or am I bugging? Dudes just love fancy buzz words

  8. Did yall forget what Trae young done for the hawks taking em to conference finals as a ā€œmismatch who can’t defendā€. He was killing it out there literally was unguardable play making like nothing and he’s undersized. Can’t wait to see hawks fall off when he’s gone cos the disrespect is crazy

  9. If he was a half decent defender then yes but he's too much of a liability. I would have never drafted him

  10. This is old media game. Just putting wins and losses numbers without any context. They do it with anyone when team wins without the guy. But who they played? Did they have the rest of the guys, were opponents full strength, were there any back to backs…etc. Trae is THE BEST player on a team.

  11. I love Trae as a Hawks fan, but simply we do better without him playing. If we can trade him for a lower offensive engine that won't be a defensive liability. He is great for his playmaking but we have Jalen and Dyson for that. Scoring would be the only thing taking a hit.

  12. Small guards who dominate the ball are becoming extinct like slashing two guards and back to basket centers. A small guy who can’t defend and has a high usage rate isn’t going to produce wins. The team belongs to Jalen Johnson now.

  13. Trae Young has been among the leaders in assists for the past 3 seasons. The Hawks drafted a BUST with the 1st pick in the draft last year. They haven't really brought in any impact players. Porzingas is injury prone. John Collins was good and they got rid of him. It's the front office's fault. Not Trae Young. But it all starts with ATL trading Luka for Trae.

  14. UD in his TV guy feelings… it’s way more than Trae for the issues with the Hawks. Can’t put the blame on him like that. Unfair and lazy take. It sounds good for TV and casuals. SMH

  15. Correlation doesn't always mean causation. Atlanta has had to rely on a 6'9 big in Okongwu to play 40 mins a night with KP out. How many games are you going to win giving up 15+ offensive rebs? Well that's been the case with KP out. There hasn't been a lot of games where Trae Young plays with a proper C in the paint to contest shots and grab rebounds. If Trae and KP get a good run of games together, and the Hawks are still losing, I would accept that a trade might be best, but not right now. It's too early

  16. How about just being honest and saying Trae is too small to guard any decent NBA player especially with his lack of effort.

This sugar coating by saying he makes the game easier is nonsense. The question is, does he make the Hawks win better or not? The answer is a resounding NO

  17. Bye bye Trae. Build around Risacher, Jalen, big o, Dyson and Naw, and they have the pelicans number one draft pick

  18. Trae Young is just too small in size , which makes him a liability in defence
Both CP3 & Dame Lillard kinda PGs are gradually being faced out of the league . Guards now are bigger & taller …

  19. Hawks just blew out to potential finals teams. They don't need anything but health. That lineup is disgusting, it just has to stay on the court.

  20. I hope they trade him so he can get a fresh start and stop getting blamed. I know the defense drops when he is on the court but the record with him on and off the court isn't telling the whole story. Let's see if they can keep it up a whole season without him then I would eat my words.

  21. You can't win with Trae as your best player. He's tooo small. I'm the history of the game. Very few small have/can win. He isn't at the level of those similar smalls (AI, Zeke, Steph)

  22. Warriors hid steph on defense. Mavs used to hide Luka on defense. Its doable. The problem is while Trae is a good offensive player, he's not on prime Steph or Luka's level. So its not really worth the effort. They should trade him.
