Jaxson hayes is more athletic. Ayton is too stiff. I like Ayton but we need to be real, he's not the future big to Luka. Maybe backup.
What happens if teams take awake the lobs like in the playoffs? Hayes would be limited. Teams will respect Ayton more so than Hayes.

We should view The Ayton/Jaxson Combo the same way We viewed the McGee/Howard Combo – Ayton will Start however, Minutes will be based on Play and Matchup.
And, Jaxson’s Game has been Developing since JJ Arrived now, Ayton has to Develop His Game. NBA Players don’t reach Their Peak til They’re 28ish – Some Folks think Pro Players don’t Develop/Get Better however, look @ Kobe; He was the Master @ Developing/Evolving His Game!!!

Its all spot on! Jake! better than Rui, I've been saying Jackson plays way better than Ayton!! , Lakers need all that energy!! Luka can't really do nothing without help, his shot was the only thing that was reliable now its not(multiple games, His defense is trash! Mostly doesn't even try!! Luka Dončić could have played much better if he had daughters by his side, just remember when his first daughter Gabriela was born, at that time he played the best basketball (he had the most points per game in 2023-2024, 33.9 points per game, on January 26 he set a personal record of 73 points against Atlanta) and also reached the NBA finals.
Currently, Luka Dončić plays everything by force, because he wants the best for the Lakers, and at the same time, he is lonely, sad, who does not have his daughters (Gabriela, Olivia) and Anamarija by his side.

Dalton Knect to his credit HAS in some NBA games shown that he can score the ball in bunches. Getting traded to Charlotte would’ve actually been what was best for him. He’d get to play lots of minutes gaining game experience while developing his craft

Jackson does NOT “play better” than Ayton. People misuse what the +/- stat is and here is a great example. Hayes looks real good against athletic teams but struggles against strong or crafty guys. It depends on the matchup! Ayton is better overall, less foul prone and able to move in the paint better.
Don’t think I heard you mention that Hayes is the kind of center that Luka likes to have around.
Ayton is being punished for saying earlier to the press in the week about JJ Saturdays allegedlly brutal "Saturdays practice" was a joke just the normal practice with no brutal talk or actions I know that got back to JJ and Aydon said it with a smile and wink. Not good

If Luka took 10-15 field goals shot 50-55% from the field and 35-40% from 3 taking 3-6 threes a game and focused more energy on getting everyone else involved playing with place using Ayton or LeBron in pick and rolls and playing more aggressive with energy and pace and speed on offence he would have more energy in the fourth and on defence
Yet all he does is choke the air out of the ball shoot the offence out of the game and nobody else gets any touches man
He could have prime Hakeem and not give him any touches but expect him
To rebound block shots play defence set screens take charges while Luka just plays iso dribble slow basketball and gives zero effort on defence
Imagine he played for Pop or Spo lol in Miami and Spurs hahahahah he would get destroyed by the coaches for terrible culture and attitude and zero effort fort on defence he would get benched immediately
Lakers run better offence with a 41 year old LeBron they look more fluid they pass the ball more they run sets and they play faster and move more as soon as Luka gets it it’s all iso everyone standing not moving the ball

JJ said he was playing better NOT he always plays better. They are different types of centers, matchups matter and I don't think DA matches up with JJJ but it might have been the Grizzlies center as JJJ was playing the 4 spot and maybe DA was trying to play help defense too much against both bigs.
Rui's problem is the same as Bronny's problem. Not aggressive and active enough during long stretches of their playtime.
You need to know what you have as a team before making a trade.
I’m going to say this and get canned for it but I don’t care. we should run the offense through Ayton first! He should be a feature of our offense and not a sideshow. I am so tired of this Luka does everything on offense team it’s just sickening. Can we please inject some variety? Ayton has shown that he can score and make good passing decisions with the ball. He’s also a good rebounder. But the Lakers aren’t utilizing him correctly and now they’re trying to blame him for their losing woes. No, we need to incorporate him more into our team. Just my humble opinion.
Hayes, Vando, Smart and Laravia play tough consistent defense.

My original thoughts on Dalton Knecht was that he was young and that people needed to give him time, especially since he was traded, then brought back which seemed to affect his confidence. I am more open to the Lakers trading him now for 2 reasons: 1- because of the emergence of Nick Smith Jr. 2-the potential of the Lakers g-league player Kobe Bufkin, but don't get it twisted, I still like Dalton's shooting & 3 level scoring ability and wouldn't mind seeing him stay with the Lakers and develop into a really solid, productive player.
