Knicks Searching For Answers Ahead Of Pistons Matchup | NY Got Game
The New York Knicks have dropped three straight games, and the questions are starting to mount as 2026 gets underway. On this episode of NY Got Game, Dexter Henry takes a deep dive into where the Knicks are right now — the defensive issues, offensive inconsistency, and the mental test that comes with facing the top team in the Eastern Conference.
First, New York Post Knicks beat writer Stefan Bondy joins the show to break down what’s gone wrong during the losing streak, how injuries and young players factor into the equation, and why this matchup in Detroit feels bigger than just one game.
Then, Detroit Free Press, Pistons beat reporter and Pistons Pulse host Omari Sankofa II provides insight into the Pistons’ rise this season, Cade Cunningham’s growth, Detroit’s defensive identity, and what this first meeting with the Knicks since last spring’s playoffs means for both sides.
Is this a get-right moment for New York or a statement opportunity for Detroit?
We break it all down on NY Got Game.

We found the answers and chose to abandon it. Playing the damn kids. It's not a fringe theory anymore, it's a winning identity for this team. Starters are tired and struggle against EVERY young athletic team they ever play, EVEN IF THEY WIN.
Pistons have a far better record, with an IMMEASURABLY BETTER defense, playing young guys every night and going 10-11 deep. We played the kids, won the cup, and went on amazing stretch of winning basketball.
We did a "Thibs Regression", tightened the rotation back to "veterans only", and went RIGHT BACK to getting punked by young athletic teams as we always have in the last two years!
We shouldn’t never got bridges or OG hart is not a scorer of any sort Mike brown is a joke as a head coach he’s an assistant not head coach
We don’t have a legitimate point guard other than Kolek Brunson is not a point guard he doesn’t even average 4 assists per game
It’s not important this coach has the same lineup as last year that’s why they look the same front office is coaching this team not brown
