SHOULD Carter Bryant be in Austin!?

Spurs rookie Carter Bryant has been stuck on the San Antonio bench, would a G League assignment to the Austin Spurs be better for his development?
In this video, I’ll break down: Carter Bryant’s rookie season so far — limited minutes and struggles adapting to the NBA. More playing time in the G League could help his confidence, decision-making, and skill growth.

  1. Do you think Carter would be better off staying in San Antonio or going to Austin? Thanks for watching and GO SPURS GO!

  2. He has been playing since 6 grade so if he doesn't show any real hope come on be realistic. Does Harper show flashes of being a good player. Does Bryant?

  3. I don't care what we do with Carter for now just don't get rid of him continue to develop him! We need more solid young players like him for multiple playoff runs in the future.

  4. Yes he should be in the G league he's way too raw he looks awful out there keeps missing everything easy layups and dunks then next season see where he's at in his development and go from there if he never pans out then I wouldn't be surprise because it seems like Brian Wright can't draft outside the top 4 but Bryant can still develop and hopefully has a future with us

  5. He looks timid and needs a confidence boost. So yes he should be in Austin. He has great potential

  6. Prior to the draft, Carter was seen as a very raw player but with a very good upside, a multi-year project. Even in NCAA, his playing time was very limited. His current performances are not a surprise at all. He is very good defensively in his appearances in NBA but without any offense (Offensively Spurs are playing 4 versus 5 when he is on court).
I think that young players should play and Austin could offer him at least 20/30 minutes per game to develop his offensive skills. Playing there for a month (such as Tidjane Salaün in november) should be surely very beneficial for him.
Garcia could make the opposite move to get more minutes in NBA for a month. The Spurs could then decide to sign him or not with a garanteed contract after this period.

  7. If the Spurs really trade Sochan I do not get the strategy of giving him no minutes and lower his value before a trade. He played well in the last couple of years – and now he is unplayable?

  8. Our Spurs are already outperforming most of our expectations this year. With that in mind, player development is best left to the professionals in the organization; not amateurs/fans like us.

  9. A strong argument could have been made that he should have been in Austin some time ago. Now, the picture is not as clear. Carter may be able to get more minutes if Sochan leaves, but that also depends on who SA brings in. I’d wait for the dust to settle before making a decision.

  10. The frustration about power forwards Sochan and Carter Bryant are in stark contrast to a Youtube video today by Hoops Reference about "Sneaky Home RUN Signings" this year. That video talks up Mamu and Dominick Barlow as diamonds in the rough. In another Youtube video by NBA INSIDE, Maxime Reynaud, one of your early draft favorites that the Spurs passed on, Rich, is touted as one of ten rookies who are already too good.

  11. I'd like to see CB and Jones-Garcia in Austin. Not that I don't think they're good enough for us, but I want them to get better and better

  12. wrong answer. you are worried about the wrong issue…he is where he needs to be, relax and just watch. the spurs are top notch at player development

  13. Carter and Sochan should be getting healthy minutes in Austin. Both can practice their 3 pointer. Sochan can practice not hesitating his layup or dunks. Carter can practice dunking the ball or a simple layup.

  14. He's young and sometimes players start out slow adapting to NBA physicality and roles they're expected to fill. He needs to be on the court learning even if its only for 5 minutes at a time if we expect him to find his footing. I say this loosely with hopes that he can make a leap towards proving himself by the trade deadline. If no improvement by then we move him to Austin. GoSpursGo

  15. Looks like we have another josh primo😂 i hope not , dallas says only copper and kyrie is the only players that is untouchable , why not get Pj washington now thats an upgrade

  16. I don't disagree with anything you said, but we also have to remember that we've been really lucky with our top draft picks lately. They've all come out on fire, so when you compare Bryant to those other top picks, it shouldn't be a huge surprise that he is having a slow start. I think he comes in with a lot of energy, but he needs to tone down that energy on the offensive side of the ball and make smarter decisions. Bryant is needed to apply pressure late in games when the other team is gassed, but yeah, he needs to show more offensive value to keep his minutes.
