sabonis stock has plummeted all the way to the bottom, most of his assists WHEN he was playing were also from simple actions like dribble
hand offs to a scorer that really does the heavy lifting for a bulk of his assists recorded… don't get me started on his lack of presence when it comes to rim protection.. again lets not get thirsty for "big name" players that have accumulated personal accolades over the years
its Keon ellis that I want, similar to those in the mile high city, really want Keon to be recipient of some fine passes by the Joker
A big yes Monk replaces IQ Sabonis better than RJ Ellis great defender. This trade makes Raps better.

Why is everyone on here talking about contract like they the one paying the players RJ the only solid offensive player on this team get rid of Qick yak and Grady.
I wasn't a big fan of RJ before but hes fit in the system very strongly. I rather keep him for now but we need a defensive center to lock the paint so easy points aren't given up. But I also think we need a playmaking shooting PG who just distributes and gets everyone the looks then I would reconsider trading RJ. I know Melo ball is in conversation but I think he would be the guy that can distribute and get doubled reamed and let BI put work on the ido and Scottie in the paint. Raptors have a history of good health managing Kawhi and BI heavily injured and on the Raptors playing most games and what not

First move, trade Poeltl, IQ and Agbaji for Trae Young and Alex Sarr.
Second, trade Mogbo, Temple and a future draft pick for Kel'el Ware.

Sabonis is useless, cant't play D and has never won anything. Not a chance. RJ proved , once again, last night, that he steps up when we really need him. Shut down the RJ trade crap.
They would have to keep IQ as they need a pg. so RJ and jakob poeltl and two unprotected 1st in 2026 and 2028 for sabonis. sabonis has torn menicus cartilage in his knee currently so he could injure it again and be out for season. so with ingram and sabonis out after trade. scottie barnes by himself wont get you 10ppg so the raptors would be a lottery team with kings getting the raptors unprotected 2026 first round pick.

What are you talking about? Sabonis would be a huge upgrade over RJ. Based on the current roster RJ is a more redundant prototype compared to what Sabonis adds.

45 million a year for a big that doesn’t protect the rim and doesn’t space the floor. You will never win anything with a center that has no interior presence unless it’s Jokic or maybe Sengun. Sabonis played with Turner who on paper is the perfect fit next to him and they didn’t go anywhere. Putting him on a Raptors team that already struggles with spacing makes absolutely no sense.

Why would the Kings want Barrett and Quickley if the plan is to rebuild and get younger? Not that Barrett and Quick are old but both their contracts are relatively expensive so how would the Kings rebuild around them?

In losing Barrett, we would lose the glue of our team . When we need a bucket at key times in a game, who gets that bucket , it is either BI or Barrett that gets that bucket !! Why would you trade RJ ?

A deal involving Sabonis works money wise with IQ, Dick and Agbaji for Sabonis. It would come down to the draft capital need to satisfy the value both ways. I would maybe go as far as a 2026 1st and two 2nds. With regard to the Raptors starting PG position, I actually think that RJ could become a solid PG with his skill at passing, ball handling and his intelligence/instinct for the game. I believe that in those areas that he is stronger than IQ. The trade would also bring the Raptors under the financial cap by 1.5M but they would need to add two more players to the roster so maybe there might need to be another secondary trade to make sure the money remains under the tax.
