Caris is nursing a nagging injury.
I think to me a good trade is one where the guy you traded for can be traded again for about the same amount of assets. So any team (Pistons) that goes after Trey Murphy, yeah you might overpay a bit, but worse case you can trade him in a year or two for probably similar value (maybe you trade 3 picks now, but he's worth 2 picks in 2-3 years). However, trading for guys who aren't like that like AD/Ja/LaMelo/Kuminga/Lauri are all more risky propositions or older, then you are risking losing assets for a guy you can't trade back. Thats what I think the Pistons should not do. If you can get a guy you think will be there in 5 years with your guys and has value now (Trey Murphy), any trade you do has to exist alongside your window of the next 5 years. Not narrow it to the next 2-3. That's what the Rockets did and its not looking great for them. Detroit needs to realize the East will be trash for a while, not just this year. So I would only think a Trey trade would work
Jaden Ivey is scoring at his most efficient rate (58% TS), on similar volume (minutes adjusted), lowest turnovers, and best defense of his career and the team has been a lot better when he's on the court (on/off court differentials). That seems surprising to most compared to the eye test. But it is quite impressive given he was out and in rehab for over a year. We certainly haven't seen the best of Ivey yet. And the evaluation of him is quite pre-mature at this stage.
OMG greatest episode, my two favorite talking about my favorite team favorite subject. Loved and agreed with all the points.
Bryce, the story of those November/December splits for Duren is a very simple one: the opponents were total garbage for a dozen games in a row!
That stretch covered most of November, and that's why the stats were so good: Duren being good against shitty teams and shitty against good teams is just what he does, it is a continuation of a trend from LAST season.
Can we trade for CJ McCollum?
Coby White would be great if he acceptes a lot less than the 30M$ that he's supposed to demand. I would like the fit of P.J. Washington as well.
Be patient with Ivey. He hadn’t played in almost a year before he came back. Then he tweaked his knee. It takes time. Fortunately our team is deep. Unless he’s included in a deal for a mega superstar (not Michael Porter jr) just keep him. What do you have to lose? His trade value is low anyway.
I’ve been saying Duren is not the guy… he’s turned back into sloppy big who gets stripped by Peyton Pritchards. He wants Max dollars and I swear if this team pays that money, it’s cooked and they aren’t winning a damn thing! They’ve been the better teams when he’s out and Paul Reed literally had 28pts and 13rebs in some games 😭 Duren is not that guy and is far away from being worth max money
duren for sarr
6:00 i agree that the caris hate has been largely undeserved. hes not some explosive 6 man but he makes shots, he controls the offense when cade is off the court, and he's not a terrible defender. On the other hand ivey has been playing so small. i was at that clippers game and with that being his first start his impact was small and i walked away thinking that if cade isnt back against the suns i wouldn't be surprised if ivey isnt starting
ivey harris and a frp for mpj 🤢 why do national pundits notunderstand incoming players NEED to fit the culture
The Pistons don't need to make a move. They can win it all as is.
When you get the number one pick you strike while the iron is hot
The pistons cannot afford a Tobias Harris. Injury.
We have alot of guards
Need a 4 upgrade
No trades
We already said we not trading
No
Why do they need to buy? If they do, it has to be someone that must sell in to their defensive culture.
Surprised you didn't really mention MPJ, other than Murphy he would be a perfect fit. What would it take to get him?
I don’t get this obsession with MPJ. He’s known to be low IQ and self centered. It’s why he was ousted from Denver. Much rather go after Kyrie or proven vet scorer like Derozan or Mcollum. Thompson would be my big trade piece since Holland is just as good a defender and better offensively, plus extra year on rookie deal.
so this dude would rather give up ivey and a first then give up 2 future firsts when we prob aint in the lottery weird thinkin bro must hate ivey
Just go get Kyrie for Ausar and Levert and whatever picks they want. We’d have him for this post season and all next year. Who’s stopping us??
Murphy 3 ???? Need defense and shooting
A Jae Crowder type of player is what they need to get for PF replacement
Perhaps Trey Murphy could be traded for
Pistons should trade Ivey levert 26 first 2031 pick swap and 2second for Murphy Tobias Duncan Robinson 28 first and 3 second for mpj and cam Thomas paul reed for capella straight up
I am not a believer of Coby White.. id rather go for derrick white than him
Levert and Ivey money for Herro works. Could the Heat be interested in getting some value for a guy they might not pay?
How we go to wanting booker and Lauri last year to mpj and trey Murphy
Caris for Colby White allows the Pistons to avoid the 2nd year of the bad LeVert contract. But it adds yet another below average shooter to a rotation desperate for shooting. Malik Monk is a better fit for the needed shooting, but his defense and long contract makes it a longer term investment.
CJ would have been much better than Dennis at the trade deadline last season. All we had to do was trade THJ and use our cap space. Unfortunately Trajan chose to go with a couple 1 year rentals, rather than taking on an extra year of cap. This makes a Malik Monk deal much less likely.
We’re not trading Ivey… His confidence is not there… And he’s clearly not fully healthy… The only thing we will trade is Caris Levert and draft picks.. Definitely not trading JI for MPJ… Lol You would have to smoke meth in order to do that.. Trey Murphy is a perfect fit but we ain’t over paying… but I’m only giving up draft picks and Caris.
Tobias a 1st and Ivey for MPJ is psychotic
TMIII
Monk for Levert would be a absolute Motor City gift
Collin Sexton would be nice
THROW Shady at Jalen Drummond, CJ Mccollum is the get there by any means
I'd like to get Ivey to sign a team friendly contract or I'd see who interested in him with or without LaVert. I'd also be cool with shopping this year's 1st.
Personal untouchable for me in order: Cade, Duran, Asuar, Ron, Stew, Sass, Harris, Jenkins, Duncan, Green and Reed.
It would be tough to loose any of these guys. Sassor is a little bit of a dark horse but Im a believer in him. Def
Ivey is getting half of his old production while playing half of his original minutes. It's easy to see.
But if the deal is right you have to consider it.
The Pistons aren’t making any trades unless it’s something really minor
Corey kispert was the move but not sure how the hawks see him. Send them this years first (will be late 20’s) and levert or something (I didn’t check for matching contracts)
