The Raps have 2 critical needs to address: 1) A competent, reliable, 7 footer or 2 (there is a good chance that we never see the pre-injury Poeltl again), 2) get under the salary cap. Let's not waste time on trades that don't address these needs!

The focus should be getting a centre not another PG. we lack size and Ja is not gonna fix that. AD is not the answer either. Poetl has been out for weeks, AD will probably be out for months, and he’s only trying to to get paid.
Why would any team give up assets for a selfish player with an attitude who has been on the decline. The Raptors have great chenistry between players as well as coaches and are playing unselfish basketball. Bringing Morant will upset it all. And its not like he's playing like a superstar. At this stage its more important to find a player with the right fit than to rush into an irrational move that will potentially set the franchise back.
If Ja’s on this roster by the trade deadline, we’re in the eastern conference finals and possibly the finals within the next two seasons
ja is a walking injury and drama queen. not speculation, fact. so no. build like OKC and we will be fine. we are only a C and PG away from being top of the east with the the current roster pieces we have… shead and CMB have popped and will only get better. walter is nearly there. gradey is looking less likely but that is OK. not every pick is going to work out. i like gradey a lot but if he doesnt take the jump, he can still be a good role player off the bench at a $5m contract instead of a $25m contract which has its own appeal.
Honestly JA being in a new environment and around guys like B.i, Scottie, RJ and having a good second unit like Shead, CMB, Gradey, Mamu, Jakobe. And a coach he liked in Darko. He might actually buy in and mature. Plus Toronto would be lit and a lot of people who dont watch raptors game would tune in.
Ja is crazy talented but a bit of a head case. Is there any prior relationship between Darko and Ja? If so, that would make this trade a lot more interesting and I do think Ja will ball out once he gets to a new environment.

It would be very stupid for the Toronto Raptors to get this player he's not a good fit and it always seems that the American people and meida always want Toronto to make a trade to ruin what have and are building so they can laugh at them so the Raptors better be smart and stay away from any of the players that are being pushed at them and find there own players and make sure that any move they make is the best move for them don't get fooled into taking a player that doesn't help them that doesn't coast them too much and is bad your team's future
About Ja having a better rating is D then Offence we are getting Mo Bamba and we also have Scottie and Marvi Ja Morant can trust those players if he gets to know them enough to know they are a dangerous d line and barely any pg in the league would get pass also if Quickly was at the 2 you have a top percent paint scoring Ja and a Amazing 3 point shooter Quickly also Scottie has some good 3s too and all round we have decent defense and good Offense Ja would be the best paint player on our team for now and that helps alot
But Never trade Quickly give they Shead or something ik shead is good but Quickly is way better then Ja its the best steal of all time if accepted for the grizzles
Lots of IF and MAYBEs about him being in a new environment MAY be good = huge huge gamble. Higher possibility is he messes up team chemistry. Toronto needs a big, and Shead should be in the starting 5, he’s extremely underrated.

Why pursue Ja at a higher cost when Immanuel Quickley provides comparable numbers at a lower price? Am I missing something here? Zach Edey makes more sense IMO.

Upside of Trading Quickly means we’re free of his terrible contract… Ja would be a free agent in 2 yrs if it doesn’t work out and we’re flexible again. Quick is nowhere near being worth the money his contract costs. So at the very least it’s a strong business decision.
I have no doubt that Ja in a new environment gets back to his old ways. Quickly on the other hand, has been far from impressive.
Ja put 40 on Philly with ease weeks ago… Quick struggled against Philly in both games of this weeks back yo back and I don’t know that his ceiling goes any higher than it is.
Even if it’s just to get rid of Quickly’s contract it’s a win.
