DECISION: Miami Heat’s Future UNCERTAIN – Is Bam Adebayo Still the Franchise Player? | Trade Ideas

The Miami Heat face a pivotal moment as Bam Adebayo’s offensive slump sparks “blow it up” talk. With the team struggling—losing three of their last four—Wes Goldberg and David Ramil assess whether Bam can be the cornerstone in a post-Jimmy Butler era or if drastic roster changes are on the horizon. Is Adebayo a legitimate number one option, or does Miami’s offensive overhaul demand more than he can deliver? Listener-submitted trade scenarios, offensive rating woes, and the Heat’s ongoing search for identity fuel a heated debate.

Key storylines include Tyler Herro’s importance, trade value speculation for Norman Powell and Andrew Wiggins, and the looming question: should the Heat go all-in on acquiring a true superstar? The episode also previews the Heat’s matchup against the surging Phoenix Suns, weighing how Miami can rebound. Don’t miss this incisive look at the Miami Heat’s future and the critical crossroads facing Erik Spoelstra’s squad.

  1. I dislike both of your takes on Bam’s handle. The problem is not his handle. Bam has a great handle for his size and position. Dear I say one of the best for big men.

The problem is he has no touch and he is not consistently aggressive as a scorer.

His handles has gotten better over time and you guy can’t name 3 big men with better handles. Bad take

  2. Wes, your view of Bam is almost hard to comprehend.
The problem has always been what bam is going to make. For 30 a year its a perfectly fine contract. You double it and now its one of the worst contracts in the nba. Him and Giannis is a terrible fit. His offense would shrink even more. We HAVE to try to trade him asap because the ability to trade that contract is about to vanish.

  3. Haven’t even started the video yet and already know Wes will try to blame Ware, Herro or the offense instead of holding Bam accountable

  4. So the plan is wait for bam to start making 50mil per then try to trade him.
Bam isnt even a top 30 player, it dont matter who you put him next to, hes a mental scrub.
    Trade bam.
    Retire pat.
    Let's go heat.

  5. I don't watch many Bucks games, can someone who does explain to me why Bam is a better fit next to Giannis than Herro or Norm or Wiggs?

  6. Wes said he wants to see what this team is, we know what it is. A play-in team. That’s what’s wrong with the organization and also the media guys who try to convince the die hards that’s what’s been taking place is ok. It’s not.

  7. The only people who overrate Bam are the Miami Heat media cheerleaders who have no other player to overhype. Claiming a 6 foot 9 inch player is a center might just be part of the problem…snicker

  8. Saying I told you so to Hear fans and media doesnt even feel good cuz they always have an inflated view of all things heat. I told them all that preseason bravado about this team and on top of it their defiance to a Wiggins trade was funny and midway thru the season yall would be mid at best and complaining 😂.. theae guys called wiggins an all-star blah blah blah 😂

  9. Bam needs to regain his confidence in his midrange game. It feels like he hit his ceiling after the '24 season. I wonder if seeing someone like Curry shoot like that every day hasn’t planted some doubt in his abilities.

  10. The more this is discussed and the more you think about it, the more it makes more sense to start over and go young. It's been a decade and we're still experimenting with Bam? Develop a handle? Is the 3 point shot real? Nah I almost feel bad for the guy. Every season Miami asks him to switch his game, and then you have these low IQ Heat fans that don't realize what has been asked of this guy every single season, and do the lazy thing of just criticizing Bam and say the guy is trash… It's time to move Bam and Herro, as well as Powell and Wiggins. It's not that I don't want Bam on the team but Miami has to start over. Bam isn't the issue It's the roster construction. It's the system. You have a bunch of good to very good players but they don't gel well. They have been a play-in team 4 or 5 years in a row now? It's time to trade everyone and get as many picks as you can while you can!!!!

  11. Spo has an obvious issue working with bigs. He’s too hard or too soft and tries to cage and mold them based of his obsession with this small ball gimmick. He tries to turn a guy like Niko who’s style fits a small forward/point forward into a center RELENTLESSLY without understanding the mindset needed for a player to do these things.

  12. Wes is acting heartbroken trying to excuse and deflect from the simple fact that Bam Adebayo stinks at basketball.
