The San Antonio Spurs are currently the second seed in the Western conference and have the third best record in the entire NBA. They have a top 5 player in the league in Victor Wembanyama, a great young supporting cast around him and future assets to improve the roster. It wasn’t long ago though that the Spurs were one of the worst teams in the league. In this video we look at how the Spurs went from the bottom of the NBA to one of the premiere title contenders this season.

On September 29, 2023, the NBA suspended Joshua Primo for four games without pay on the grounds that he had exposed himself to women. Later that day, he signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. On November 15, the Clippers converted Primo's two-way contract to a standard contract. However, on April 13, 2024, he was waived by the Clippers.
On October 2, 2024, Primo signed with the Chicago Bulls, but was waived the next day. On October 28, he joined the Windy City Bulls, but was waived on December 29 without playing in a game for the team. He is currently a free agent.
You know that the Spurs did get De'Aaron Fox by trading a 1st round pick they got for trading Rob Dillingham, who they had the rights from the 1st round pick they got for trading Jakob Poeltl. Also a part of that trade was a 1st round pick they got from the Bulls when they sent them DeMar DeRozan to the Bulls.

To see the young talent that the Spurs have flourishing, not just wemby is great to see. Stephon, Dylan Harper, Julian, Keldon Johnson among many others. The young supporting cast around wemby is amazing. The Spurs are back.

I dont think the spurs can win it all this season. I think they need that playoff experience first. Next season will probably be more of a chance. What i am excited for is playoff wemby. If theres one thing ive learned watching him its that if theres a spotlight he wants it all on him. Take opening night for instance. All the buzz was about flaggs debut. I dont think anyone was bringing up wembys return. He goes out and has possibly the best overall performance ive ever seen. The next day no one was talking about flagg and i think thats what wemby wanted.

The spurs were lucky to get anybody for Kawhi since he only had one year left of his deal and was determined to go back to LA. The LA teams weren't gonna trade for him cause they can wait till the offseason and other teams didn't have the assets and weren't willing to take a risk on a one year rental
