Sorry but ima have to disagree with you on THIS one.. You have an option to acquire a player like Ja Morant who ALSO plays a position of NEED you go and get him! We already have players who don’t play lol so what would really be the big difference?! It seems to me like your issue is with Ja Morant.. Ja Morant with Cooper Flag would be exciting as hell to watch! With that being said Christie HAS to stay and be a part of the younger core! I love Kyrie but he can be traded .. unless he’s going to retire a maverick you might as well trade him now while his trade value is as high as it will ever be!
So I would trade Anthony Davis for a bag of potato chips, but I would rather keep AD than to trade for Ja Morant.
The best trade I've seen for Gafford was to the Lakers for Vanderbilt, Knecht and a protected 1st.
Austin Reeves and the Lakers 1st for Gafford.

LOL …. The Athletic just straight up matching salaries while the drunk dial up the Trade Machine. Well said, Coop. I've said it since his draft day, Ja isn't a winning piece. If you can convince yourself to set aside all of his baggage, his player profile just never really delivers. Smallish guard that is hyper athletic but lacks a perimeter game? Hello Steve Francis, John Wall, Derek Rose and more. not saying those dude weren't good but they never reached the promised land/extended excellence, their bodies betrayed them and their games didn't age well. Ja is in that same profile of physical talent. I'd need 3 firsts and they take AD. We can then move Ja for expirings and a can of Pringles to really trim the fat off the payroll.

See I look at it if KI is coming back at even 80% of himself he's the point Ja could be the two. And if Kyrie Irving is as good at helping people mature as people keep telling me then there shouldn't be an issue. I would hate to lose Gaff but Knecht or Reeves plus a first would convince me. Otherwise i say no plus I won’t trade Christie. Since Thompson is playing much better I wonder what he would bring us? If someone says a second I say no thank you. Seconds have less than 20% chance of even being serviceable. With G league more of them are developing though.
