OKC never had any aura. Only people that like them are their little kid fans. They've ALWAYS been a team full of corny ass clowns. The hype was real fans were buzzing that the Oklahoma City Thunder could surpass the legendary 73‑9 Golden State Warriors. Reality check with 7 losses already, that dream is virtually dead. To break the record, OKC would need to go 41‑1 over the rest of the season an almost impossible feat in today’s NBA. While the Thunder are having a historic campaign, the chase to top the Warriors’ all time win mark has clearly run out of reach.
Weird how the 2017 KD Warriors team was more well regarded than both the 2016 Warriors team and the 1996 Bulls team when they won 67 games only. If you want to blame it to the fact that KD missed 20 games that season then Rodman also missed 18 games in the 1996 season and 27 games the next when the Bulls won 69 games. People like to play the hypophysis too much and go with the on paper team. Yes, individually they were great but together they were ok. Don't ever put the 2017 and 2018 Warriors in the greatest team ever conversation, it is not even close.
Prediction = Spurs beat OKC in 6 games in Western Conference semifinals.
I've noticed you just hate OKC.
OKC had a great start, but anyone who thinks their roster is anything close to the 2016 Warriors roster is delusional. None of them are on Curry's level, not even close. None of them are as good a shooter as Klay Thompson, not even close. None of them are Iggy caliber. One thing that is better, is that Chet is a better center than Andrew Bogut… arguably, maybe one of their players is as good or better than Harrison Barnes. None of their players are as good a defender as Draymond in his prime. Don't even get me started on the bench and depth.
Sure, OKC won a Championship, and they still might win another, but once they established "dominance" they had a target on their back. Just like the Warriors dynasty, everyone was circling that match up on their calendar. They started to learn the hard way, that there was no longer going to be an easy night. Every single team and every single player is going for your throat. The Warriors had to go up against that, too. Only difference is, they were still light years ahead, and the small ball line up wasn't copy-catted yet.
72-10 was thought to be unbeatable. 73-9 was amazing. All that hype, all that talk, and now you have to walk the walk. OKC fans and Warriors haters were just so desperate to have a anti-Warriors talking point, that they put the cart before the horse.
Could they have done it? They had a chance… but if you really look at the roster, if you've been paying attention to the NBA for longer than just a couple decades, you know that it was highly unlikely, because OKC is not even close to the 2016 Warriors. Not even close.
Thunder Fan Here… For two years the Social Media Narrative of OKC has been WAY off..
Last year they were disrespected, given less credit than they deserved. Result: NBA Chip.
This year, they were Overhyped. Unbeatable? Unstoppable? I never believed what the "experts" were selling 1-1/2 months ago.

Dug into the Stats LAST year, when the narrative first gained some traction. At that time, as a team, OKC had the SECOND WORSE FT Differential in the League. No BS.
And THIS year, at the time Coach Finch pulled his Fake Outrage Stunt during the Wolves / Thunder game, OKC was #9 (NINE) in FT Differential. In fact, OKC was 25-2 going into the Wolves game. And THEIR OPPONENTS SHOT MORE FTS IN 10 OF THOSE 25 WINS.
BTW, the runaway leader in FT Rankings when I checked: LA Lakers.
So PLEASE, before you draw a conclusion about the OKC &The Refs from Podcast Clips, know the Stats.

At this point people will find any little thing to hold against OKC. They go a dominant 68-14 last season + a championship, they are statistically a much better team this season and are currently 33-7 but the media says “exposed” “hype job”?
