And then came the chaos.
Despite burning a timeout moments earlier specifically to avoid a five-second violation, Tre Jones turned the ball over on the inbounds. Brooklyn capitalized, knocked down two free throws with 2.6 seconds left, and the Bulls’ final possession somehow got worse. Instead of hitting Coby White on the run, Tre passed to a stationary Nikola Vučević, who was forced into a desperate, off-balance heave from just beyond half court that banked long off the glass.
