  1. I know mike ignores the half court changes Splitter put in place when Deni and Jrue were playing together, but Scoot's low bball IQ is a bad fit for that. Obviously he's better than the end of the bench roster we're forced to play now, but at least they don't affect how PDX progresses as a team, Scoot on the other hand is one big bad habit. With some luck, we'd be able to trade Scoot this summer with someone with better playmaking and decision making.

  2. In defense of all us optimists, a completely healthy blazer team, in hindsight, probably did have a shot at 5/6th 😅

  3. What kind of players would we want around Deni next year? Obviously need some better shooters, tho we do have Dame ready. I think once we get Wesley+Matisse (and just generally more players) back we’ll have a better idea of if the Chauncey high pace defensive focus works. We just don’t have the headcount for it rn. What do you think?

  4. If you told me the blazers would be 9th in the west with some of the wins that they have, I’d have been totally content with it. If you told me they got there with scoot playing zero games and Jrue/JG missing as much time as they have, I straight up wouldn’t have believed you. I’d have also been a bit disappointed that they got there with a middling defense in addition to their middling offense, though I imagine part of that is because of what we see with Deni happening to everyone else, as just about everyone getting minutes needs to do more on offense than they probably should be asked to do

  5. I read that Deni is for sure now Out for the game . I think it good to let him rest more. He should let his body recover. Hope he will be back soon but his healthy is the more impotant thing. Wish good luck to team in the game

  6. Mike, I’m so glad you recapped that moment in the third where we were rampaging back and Jrue pulled a Ben Simmons and killed 100% of the momentum. It was a bummer for sure!!

    Great work on the pod!

  7. This season turns out to be just a big test moving on to next season.
Deni is a lock, you know what you're gonna get out of Sharpe, Clingan is on the right track, Camara is Camara. Dame is coming back, so you really need to figure out what kind of moves you make to take the team to the next level.
Fortunately, you have that Milwaukee's pick so you should have some cards to play with.

  8. Yes, this team was hard to watch against G.S., . It was very clear that this yea wasn’t ready to play, poor coaching, poor effort from team as a whole, Sharpe no where ready for the stage and the injury bug needs to stop!! Some of these minor injuries are ridiculous for the amount of time these players are taking off such as a spring thumb.
Maybe things can turn around a little bit against Atlanta. I know these guys are a lot better than this.
