I honestly think calling Scoot Henderson a miss is kind of too early for that assumption. If he is injury prone like he has been, then 100% its a miss. He has had pretty much 1 – 1 1/2 seasons to develop. He is very young still.
The rebuild is over! A massive salary cap with guys in their mid-to-late 20s that can play at a play-in level!
What more could a Blazers fan hope for? 😐
i watch every Deni Avdija video…
Go Turbo Deni !
He should be an all star
Scoot wasn’t a “hit” but calling him a “miss” when the man hasn’t been able to suit up for a game yet in his third season is a little premature imo
Joe Cronin is looking like a genius more and more.
Loved Evan turner in PDX classy guy
Donavan is a huge piece of the puzzle
4:12 “good numbers?” 😅 were his numbers even good there?
We tried to tell them he has a lot more to offer. They called us stans
Deni dose look like a senior playing against a bunch of freshman when he's driving to the paint. Defenders are either too small or too slow
At the time, Portland did overpay for Avdija. Washington probably would’ve taken less. Nobody projected his rise to this current level.
Shaedon Sharpe!
This will be the best nba team dame has been able to play with
Bout time someone admits Scoot is a miss… I don't think he a complete bust, but he is not a starting point guard on a top tier team. I predict he will be traded.
Say what you want. But Sharpe will end up the best blazer
Deni TURBO Avdija ❤️🖤🌟
He is not even in his best 🤷🏻♂️
He will be all-star and all nba !
Not to mention, this stretch has been without Dame, Scoot, Thybulle, Wesley, Holiday (up until 2 games ago), and Grant (ditto). Deni missed three games during this stretch with back spasms as well. Blazers are starting to get scary.
(and they had the second-hardest schedule for the first half of the NBA season, and one of the easiest for the remainder of the season)
Don't forget about Scoot when he gets healthy again!
Trade Jerami Grant, and the expiring contracts of Robert Williams and Matisse Thybulle, to desperate contenders for 1st’s and/or more young talent.
Scoot and Shaedon are going to be the best 2-Way backcourt in the NBA maybe ever at just 21-22 with Caleb Love as the 6th man, JEW-ka Denicic and Toumani on the wing, ClingKong and Yang are 20-21.
I appreciate you thoughts about the Blazers and, as a devoted fan, I agree with most of them. However, Mannix refers to losing Billups to “one of the greatest scandals in NBA history. To my knowledge, Billups pleaded not guilty, no one has been convicted, and the circumstances surrounding his “showtime” dawn arrest were quite suspicious. If I were you I would be more circumspect with my words in this national forum. Thanks to Evan for his interesting words!
Saying scoot Henderson was a miss is very funny. It’s not like they reached for him😂 He was unanimously the 3rd pick in the draft. And he is so young that calling it quits for him right now is silly.
It’s all Deni. They need to build a team around him cause right now he’s playing with scrubs.
Cronin missed on Scoot. Too many players better than him that he should of drafted.
ET's voice kills me.
We don’t know that Scoot is a bust. We just know that he wasn’t ready.
Evan Turner hit the nail on the head, there is NOTHING you can
do to stop Deni Avdija when he goes into the paint !!
deni is such a beast! I had no idea who he was until this season but I love him! Him with Dame, Jrue, and Cling Kong is going to SLAY next season!
To put it mildly, you're a fool if you think Scoot Henderson was a miss. About a year from now, when he'll still only be 22 years old, that comment is not going to have aged well at all. Just like you smirked more than once about the Avdija trade, my friend, you're playing the fool again.
Turbo
When Portland traded for Deni I didn't hear anyone in Portland talking about, "overypaying for Deni". Everyone was excited. A lot of people were expecting him to be a great 2nd or 3rd option. Did he surprise everyone? Yeah, but we weren't calling it a bad trade.
Everyone is writing off Scoot like he's washed. Dude is still only 21. The hamstring tear was pretty bad. But those types of injuries when they dont require surgeries are generally 100% recoverable from. We don't know when he'll be back but its pretty certain when he's back he'll be the same athlete he was before the tear. If they give up on this kid they'll regret it in 2-3 years.
Nice to feel and hear the love- nothing better than winning games to get people hyped. A couple months ago people were moaning and wailing in Portland. Such is the roller coaster. But let's come to earth a little. This "genius" Joe Cronin was the same GM that extended the losingest coach in franchise history. The hall of fame disaster named Chauncey Billups. Billups got the boot only because of his legal shifty situation, so much of the coaching that is getting these players moving forward is happening with Tiago Splitter at the helm. Credit to Cronin for brining in solid asst coaches finally. I'm not totally sold on Yang Hansen as a draft pick. Jury is still out on Scoot. So there are some hits, some misses with Cronin. Right now, it feels good. Let's see if we can ride this for a while.
27 7 7…
Deni is an all star for sure. Scoot is not a miss. He's developing, he's young, and it's the hardest position to learn. DeAaron Fox was bad for a while. Billups as a player was bad for like 7 years (and a bad coach and a cheater yadada). Scoot is not a bust, and he's going to learn a lot from Jrue and Dame
