Who Will the Blazers Cut to Make Room for Caleb Love and Sidy Cissoko?
The Portland Trail Blazers have a good problem on their hands: they have too many players who are playing well.
With the emergence of two-way studs Sidy Cissoko and Caleb Love, who are both more than deserving of standard NBA contracts, comes tough decision for Joe Cronin and the Blazers’ front office. Either a trade, multiple trades, or multiple cuts must be made to the current roster to open up two spots.

In any case the roster is going to change, either we somehow relegate Sidy and/or Caleb to the GLeague for the remainder of the season, or we will cut, or most probably trade to free spots

I put a trade on another pod Timelord, Matisse and our 31 pick for Nic Claxton. Richmond said the Nets would jump all over that. Claxton is a younger, healthier version of Rob. That would make room for Sidy. Then maybe we could trade Chris Murray to Sac. for a couple seconds. They will have the twins.

A. Hope they will find good trades , and won't need to waive anybody.
B. Month ago, Rupert was the easy choice, because he didn't earn minutes even with the injuries, but he started get some, and in the last 4-5 games, he played good.
C. The rules are pretty hard anyway. Dame got the full MLE, and therefore, they can sign just for this season and the next, and they aren't in the same status. Any two ways contract can be easily become RFA, but I think just Sidy is going to be RFA this summer even with upgrading him to a standart contract, and Cronin can sign him easily with Early Bird Rights to multi years. Love is going to be UFA, so the only way is to give him 2 years minimum contract and then he is going to be RFA. Maybe it will be better for the the future to keep him in this two way contract and RFA this summer. He won't play but he can still be with the team and then sign him in the summer to multi years deal

No matter what you keep Love and Cissoko (Or keep Rupert)….And I know it makes sense to move him but I love Time Lord….wish he could stay here forever
I don't agree with keeping Rupert over Blake Wesley. Blake brings very important energy and defense that was very important too. Unfortunately, Rayan Rupert is just not improving enough over two to three years to keep him over Blake Wesley.
There is no need to cut anymore yet. If we get healthy we can return Love and Sidy to the two way role.

Murphy & MPJ … If we don’t want to challenge the chemistry too much, sleeper roll player fits for this roster could be guys like Matas Buzelis, Santi Aldama & Quinton Post – not so much for defense but mostly due to their abilities at their height, cost, age, and lack of ego … but I also said that DA was garbagio before we got him so what do I know🤷🏾
