The NBA’s MOST BROKEN Rule π±π
The NBA has a loophole that allows teams to waste game time indefinitely. The game clock only stops after made field goals, but the shot clock doesn’t start until a player legally touches the ball. This means teams can roll the ball inbounds and let it slowly roll without touching it, burning precious seconds.
The Memphis Grizzlies exploited this perfectly. After a LaMelo Ball three-pointer, they rolled the ball inbounds and Murat stood over it without touching it. The Hornets refused to defend, allowing Memphis to burn 31 seconds off the game clock while the shot clock stayed at zero. The play is completely legal but breaks the flow of the game and allows teams to manipulate time management in ways the rule wasn’t designed for.
