The Raptors are targeting the wrong centers…

The Toronto Raptors per reports are trying to trade for a starting center as Jakob Poeltl sees a back specialist. But WHO makes sense? Who is the right candidate? I’ll evaluate 10 options, focussing on the 3-5 guys who make the most sense, and give you the pros and cons of each option with a mock trade to make it happen.

  1. Anthony davis would be the best player on the raptors if they got him. The rest of those guys are as useless as yak poodle.

  2. In Sac they want IQ, RJ and 2 firsts for Schroeder and Domas…. At least that’s what they’re saying on their sac town sports radio show.

  3. Hey Rob can you please explain to me why people are suggesting Sabonis when we need a Center that can protect the rim, block shots & shoot ?

Wouldn't any of the following fit better?

    Jay Huff
    Myles Turner
    Alex Sarr
    Kelel Ware
    Donovan Clingen
    Isaiah Stewart

  4. Sabonis is a Darko player with his playmaking. Very high IQ. If he takes and makes more 3s he’d fit our offence great. Defensively atleast he’s smart. Draws charges. Gets a lot of boards. Can body up the bigger bodies. SB and CMB may be able to negate some of his weaknesses

  5. * Correction, I said Scott Perry is working with Joe Dumars in Sacramento. I misspoke. Dumars in NOLA. Perry is in Sacramento. I fused them together in my mind speaking too fast.

  6. Liked the short punchy analysis .. think I have been sold on Sharpe finally. Not so sure how swayed the Nets will be to trade him, but I’d love it

  7. Any trades where we give up draft picks (even 2nd rounders) I'm not doing unless i'm getting a stud top tier player. In the modern NBA young and cheap talent is TOO VALUABLE to trade for mediocre guys that need new contracts.. Every draft seems to be stacked with talent. I'll just take Sabonis or Davis without giving up a pick if we can if not we keep going with no center until we draft one or sign one.

  8. Great stream. Im on the Domas train. The offense would theoretically be fun to watch. Lets go.

  9. This team needs offense and rebounding. Domas brings that. He also fits in that he allows the team to stay mobile which has become their defensive and offensive identity. Yes shooting is an issue, that isn't the teams strength but that also isn't their identity, in that sense Domas fits well. The team is like the 3rd seed, the system and structure is working, Domas would just be a supercharger into an already established identity. However id also love to see Dayron added as well. We need like two centers added. Domas plus someone younger and more explosive is perfect. Its same with Poeltl, we still need a good backup

  10. I think a 2 or 3 year apprentice center with size would be perfect on this team. Size and mobility would be attributes near top my scouting wants. Hard to find this though (maybe impossible at current ask prices).. so maybe they just hope for some treatment breakthroughs with current injuries at that position, tow the line this season and see what free agency/draft has to offer after playoffs/playin.

  11. Goga would be so good for the raps. Cheap, blocks shots, lob threat, plays hard, and can even stretch the floor a bit. Perfect role player

  12. Dayron is highly underrated. A great rebounder, a very iq player, and a really good passer. He also probably has the ability to shoot, at least to some degree, he hasn’t gotten the opportunity to. I would like to keep Dayron as a Nets fan, and to trade Claxton, as Clax has likely hit his ceiling. To give Dayron the starting role, and see what he can do with a bigger role. If it doesn’t work he’s still a great backup center. Given all of this though, the trade you proposed is definitely fair for both teams. And I like it for the Nets as well, even though it’s going to end up being somewhat of a late round pick, it’s still a super stacked and deep draft. Anyway, great live stream!

  13. 4th trade is the most realistic with a little twist, blockbuster trade..
It's a crazy deal: but the trade works. U definitely would have to keep some g leagers on your roster or if possible sign some veterans. Here's the Deal.

Domantas Sabonis, Keon Ellis and Malik Monk

    for

Poeltl, RJ, Dick, Agbaji, Temple, Mogbo

    👍
