  1. We not getting to the second round, Barnes is not gonna make it happen. I don’t even trust in him to get it done, if he not making shots, he don’t bring not else to the team, we barely beat jazz, who trying to lose the game .

  2. We need to add a player that will cause mismatch problems for Minnesota and Phoenix. If it is Trey I agree with you but how well does he play against those teams?

  3. Spurs fan who lives in New Orleans. I know my Pels have lousy GM past and present. But I hope he is not stupid enough to trade my young on good contracts players leave. If everyone WANTS what we have, maybe you should build around it! What can the Spurs give up that would be worth it?
Spurs should target Myles Turner for Vassell and #1. A athletic big body bodyguard for Victor who can defend the rim and shoot threes. Even though he is not a good individual rebounder his size will improve team rebounding.
Get Bobby Portis for Olynyk expiring and say 2 #2s.
Sochan for Yabusele, more size and 3s
Pick up James Wiseman for minimum. What organization is better for rebuilding an athletic 7 footer with a motor!
Victor gets to spend most of his time at the 3 or 4 position! One of the reasons KD has lasted so long is he has played extensively at the SF, avoiding bigger bodies.

  4. I really doubt that the Pels will trade Trey Murphy. They signed him for 25M$ and he is playing very closed to an allstar player. What would be their interest to trade him, even if two first round picks are attached to the trade ??
Dumars is not very clever but I don't think that he is totally dumb…

  5. Yes. Because Trey is way better than the average nba player knows about.

    And he’s the perfect fit.

I’ve become quite the Spurs fan. But I’ll be honest. This team has presently constructed is not good enough to win a championship this year and probably not next year either.

Specifically at a seven game series against some of the more experienced teams in the west. I think in many series they will go to six possibly seven games but there’s deathly holes that need to be filled. The Spurs have a lot of depth, but they lack specific skill sets that create holes in there starting five and also off the bench.

If you get Trey Murphy, you’ll have a puncher chance at winning this year and going forward you’ll probably be one of the top two favorites for the next 2 to 3 years

In a nutshell, Trey Murphy offers his team way too much value in one player based on the needs that this team has. He’s offers you height to play the three or the four which is a concern for this team. He’s offer offers you to guard 2 to 4. He has a consistent three ball, which has been an issue for this team over stretches where we have often times had to have a rely on a hot hand versus a collective consistent percentage from the three-point line whether that was Keldon or champagne. He offers you a go to score who can be your leading hot hands score on any nights to propel you to a win. He offers you athleticism on labs and slashing at the rim.

Definitely worth somebody giving up three first round picks for specifically if you can somehow leverage more assets into another player like Herb Jones as well

A trade of Kelly Sohan and Harrison Barnes with three first round picks and three second round picks financially makes sense. And to be honest with you. If I was getting both of those players, I might even consider giving up a fourth first round pick as well but try to sell it as a pic swap instead. Mainly because I think Trey Murphy is that good to not lose the deal over and herb Jones is also too good of a fit for this team so the double value is really nice. Plus, both players are on long-term team friendly deals.

Obviously, the draft picks are nice to have specifically in this new nba with the CBA rules. But the value of those two players combined at this specific window and time where your team is still, young and affordable, is invaluable towards the growth of the franchise. And just because you pay up for players now it doesn’t mean that later on you can’t sell players back if need be in order to recuperate assets when the cap room becomes an issue. I’m pretty sure in two years. You would still be able to sell Trey Murphy for at least two first round picks. Possibly more if he continues to ascend so I’m not too worried about that. You probably might be able to sell vassell for one first round pick if his salary becomes an issue.

  6. Lets face it. If the Spurs is aiming for the championship this year, Giannis is what we need. Twin tower 2.0. Spurs must gamble while Vic is still healthy

  7. Spurs have no use to keep three starting point guards, and they don’t need a future star player like Murphy.
Spurs should trade Harper, Sochan and Olynyk for Michael Porter Jr. They shouldn’t even need to include a draft pick.
MPJ addresses the Spurs desperate need of shooting and Harper can be the starting PG he should be playing 30min a game.
