The Warriors made a mistake the last few years. After the last championship, they decided to go younger with Kaminga and the younger guys but half way through that they abandoned the plans and paid Steph, acquired Jimmy on a huge salary and paid Draymond. That’s leaves little money for the younger guys who they can’t pay but want to tow the company line and take less. That’s all this is. Dunleavy and Kerr want to scapegoat Kaminga but the kid just wants what the market dictates.
A few things can be true at the same time. JK doesn't fit the Warriors' system and the coaching staff's perpetual win-now mentality. Kerr doesn't know how to coach new players, plus he clearly doesn't know what plays to draw up for JK, and the front office really screwed up his future and value.
Chuck looking like Prime Chuck.
Charles Barkley? News Flash….
Dub nation has been “In The Know” that Steve Kerr doesn’t want JK…and that the relationship is OVER.
Check JK’s career stats since being the 7th pick.
Shaq was right….he would fit in well with the Spurs!
Charles, The Lakers didn’t extend LBJ a contract…..
Can He still play?
💯💭🤓🔥
4:35 amazing point Kenny
Chuck is the biggest joke with no chips
They are doing the kid wrong they should just trade him and let him free. They just got him on the roster for nothing and he has talent that another team could use
Skinny Chuck forgot he previously called Kuminga a stud!😑Chuck now has Kerr derangement syndrome😂
If Kuminga went to a team with three great defenders who could make up for his sub-par D, and his offense stayed the same, he would shine and that team would win maybe 8 or 10 more games per season. Kuminga's style does not match GS's style. He's 23; chances are his offense will improve the next three or four years.
The irony is that "Inside the NBA" is getting a lot of "DNP-CPs" just like Kuminga.
I used to like Golden State, but with the way they have treated Kuminga, it is just hard. Who can play to their fullest potential when people aren't supportive and any mistake means getting yanked. For me Tatum, Haliburton, Jaylen Brown (Kerr had to have some pull and could've gotten him in) proved it all along. There are biases to the way Kerr coaches and in some cases they might be detrimental to some people. It will be nice when Kuminga gets his chance to show if he can or can't play.
Agree with chuck! Kuminga sucks!
Anyone who sides with Kuminga doesn’t objectively watch enough Warriors games. “I like how consistent he is” is a clear sign of that. That is exactly why he doesn’t have minutes. He’ll string together 4 or 5 good games playing within the system, and then he goes rookie hero ball for the next 5 or 10. Trying to be a Kobe highlight reel. He’s got more physical skills than most of the roster, sure. But he doesn’t have more basketball talent than most of the roster. You remember his productive games. But you don’t remember that he started 12 of the first 13 games of the season, the last 9 of those he shot 43% for 11ppg as a supposed rim runner, and averaged more TO’s than assists. And then they sat him. Then they played him again 4 games, same bad habits. That’s how he ended up playing just one game over the next 22.
Can he score? Sometimes. Can he rebound? When he wants to. Can he defend? Like a rookie.
Kuminga for HB HB was a good piece for gs when they won they titles
Where these guys been???
Solid theory of what happened in the Kuminga situation:
Two things happened simultaneously
1. Couple years ago Lacob was dealing with two expensive contracts coming up; Klay and Draymond. He tried lowering Kuminga’s value so he could sign him at a massive discount, enabling him to sign Klay and Draymond.
2. Kerr and Myers had a behind the scenes fallout and power struggle over roster construction. Myers wanted Bigs and tall athletic wings versus Kerr wanted the same small ball BS we’re seeing him play today.
Myers lost the power struggle and resigned. Kerr held on to the resentment even after Myers was already gone. So instead he latched out at Kuminga; the last remnant from the Myers regime. Also Ker wanted to draft Franz Wagner instead of Kuminga.
In Kerr’s mind, Kumjnga became a proxy for Myers. Probably started off subtle, pity, and covert sort of resentment at first. But Eventually Kuminga started standing up for himself. That made Kerr’s pettiness and covert resentment worse so he started screwing the kid every chance he got with playing time and taking catty jabs at him during press interviews. And also gives him a thin margin for error to the point where he gets pulled from games immediately for small missteps. Kerr justifies pulling him under the guise of “he’s not a fit for the system”. Meanwhile for example: Draymond turns the ball over all over the place, Podz is a massive liability on defense, Buddy has long cold streak bricking the ball for months on end, etc.
Things got progressively worse when 1. Kuminga’s agent got involved and they had that hostile and prolonged contract negotiation this past offseason and 2. Every time Kerr DNPs Kuminga for long stretches of time(because according to Kerr he sucks/can’t play/doesn’t fit etc but then circumstances forced Kerr to play him anyway (Steph and Jimmy injuries for example). Kuminga ends up playing well and makes Kerr look foolish, further stirring up his resentment for the kid.
While all this was going on, Lacob was fine with all of it. Lacob didn’t personally dislike JK but he liked what he predicted would be the natural outcome: JKs value falls so he can sign him at a team-friendly discount. But things spiraled out of control and it’s now irreparable. JK is demanding a trade but his trade value has fallen off a cliff by Kerr and Lavon’s doing.
I was gonna say. How come no inside the nba?
It’s call control. The did the same thing with Durant and Jordan Poole. They are used to players being desperate and taking anything from coaches and the front office. Those days are long gone.
I thought this show was over
Can’t blame Kuminga for nothing 💯😂nobody want to blame Kerr ….he been averaging 20 every time he get a “Chance” not tryna hear about no system play your best players
Chuck is absolutely wrong about kuminga situation can tell he paid no attention. Just a clown take
