Gafford looked a bit like his old self yesterday in his minute restriction but i wouldn't trust that crap. Naji and max need the payday from dallas.

The Mavs messed up by not trading AD when they had the chance, so they could get the cap flex and draft picks. Now the talk is trading players who shouldn't be traded imo. PJ, Gaff, and Naji are players who could help make a run next season when Kyrie is back. Keep the team together and add a lottery pick (Wagler) then look for trades at '27 TDL.
My only issue is this desperate idea of building around cooper as though what's already around him is a useless bag of chips. Klay, PJ, Christie, Gaff, Naji are all players that YOU said teams that want to win a chip would be interested in. Then you say that you don't want to tank next season. If we trade these guys and get "flexibility " were either gonna go for 20th+ 1st rnd picks or trade for players like Naji or PJ to build around Coop. Does it really make a difference that player is 23-24 and not 27. You talk like we the fans have to wait till Coop is 22-23 to have any hope of winning a chip. I get the AD trade need completely. I'm all for it. But honestly apart from Hardy and Dlo, i find it difficult to part with any one else on the roster. Heart can't be traded for or drafted. Look at Ayton at the Lakers. These dogs wanna win. And they want to do it soon.

Moussa Cissé an UNDRAFTED ROOKIE is outplaying Gafford. It's very possible for rookies, undrafted rookies, free agents can be better than what the Mavericks currently have.
Other teams has shown that, you don't need to go after the bigger name to be good.
Some moves need to be made. This team is way too old right now to be properly built around Flagg. And the second apron needs to be avoided

You don't need draft picks you can get better with trade. This is the NBA.
Mavs need to load up this draft as much as possible, 2 frp for naji, 1 frp for gaff, trade Caleb, Hardy, Klay, and Dlo, dump exum . look for some underplayed, maybe underperforming youngins.

Trade Klay And Gafford for a 1st round pick. Get younger and get rid of those contracts. Also I would look at Naji becuase he's playing lights pout but at same time hes ball dominant and taking possessions away from Flagg.
I don't think anyone is giving up a first for Gafford. He probably doesn't have a market. Caleb might fetch a couple of seconds given how well he's been playing as of late. I think they'll keep Naji coz we need a few veterans for next season since we owe our 2027 first to Charlotte.
The age thing I believe has affected your reasoning more than you realize. Every time you guys mention for example BWill, you say he's 25-26. Like that kills all the hype. You're perfectly fine if we trade him. And I'm d*@d a$s that y'all will do it in a heartbeat for a couple of 2nd rounders. Ok. No prob.

They traded the 2027 pick to get PJ and the 2028 pick to get Gafford. The Hornets and Thunder will never give you control of those picks back if you’re trading to get worse. Let that sink in.
Gafford's FG% is down… it's not like he's led the NBA in FG% for years and had a Wemby level block % based of minutes played… OF COURSE HIS %'s ARE DOWN CARRYING A START OF THE SEASON INJURY…. Like compared to what… AD and Lively keeping the bench warm for the bench players who are now roll players 🤣 Should have traded AD and got a good scorer and then grab Moussa Cissé to develop with Gaff and Lively and wait for Kyrie. Quit with the fire sales and player shuffling…

9:41 Gaff is off limits for me for that reason exactly. If we can’t get a first yeah, BUT HOW LIKELY IS THAT?? I was not in for an instant total rebuild. Trading gaff is that. We have no guards, have no bigs, we’d literally be a team of wings looking for almost an entirely new roster. Coop, pj, Naji , Klay , Kai , some variation of that is what we will be left with. We would literally have to rebuild this team with non stars 13:45 how much in contention will we be? As of right now the mavs have no star and outside coop and the draft, idk how we get a star/all star to pair with coop. Nico was the seat at the table. That’s seat is gone . How sure are we that we won’t just take a shit in the draft and bring in a bunch of mid level-sub par free agents like the Pre-Nico era?
