If you're Schwartz, and the Browns hire a 35 yr old HC over you, why would you stick around and work for a guy 25 years younger who the Browns thought was a better choice? He could go to Pittsburgh as a DC and really stick it to the Browns.

Berry got enough data to finally go with a direct descendants of the McVey tree rather than indirect descendants of the Shanahan tree. Zac Taylor (1 SB and 2 AFC appearances), Liam Cohen, Kevin O'Connell and the list goes on. Nate Scheelhaase is just the next in line. We still need a top 10 first round QB. All signs point to Mac Jones who already has been seasoned winning WCOs. Not the indirect descendent version Stefanski ran.
If Nate has no say on his own staff I’m not sure he takes it… the McVay tree always brings someone else from the McVay tree to coach the other side of the ball and fill out the coaching positions

Cleveland Browns media and fans don't get the Rooney Rule. Because Browns Be Browns Clowns. Rule is about providing minorities an opportunity to EXPERIENCE pursuing high level jobs. Interviews now for someone who won't get the job but provides them experience to the process so they are more successful the next hiring cycle. Only the Browns would think such initiatives were a waste of time since the analytics is only about end results not how. Don't develop football players, don't want to contribute in helping DEVELOPING minorities in NFL leadership unless we going to hire them. Berry and Haslam's are biggest jokes and jerks.
