Spurs got bullied under the basket. Blame shooting if you want, but when that fails we depend on our defense to get stops and that failed today because they were bigger, stronger, more physical down low. We need a big, strong, power forward who can push people around, get rebounds at both ends, block out, and basically control the center.
Need to trade for Trey Murphy iii or MPJ, give them Harrison Barnes, Jeremy sochan, and 3-4 picks. The spurs need to do this fast
We desperately need an all around PF who can actually rebound.
No defense, no physicality, stagnant offense/ME BASKETBALL ESPECIALLY down the stretch. Players dictating and not the coaches, this will not be happening under Pop!!! Pointgaurd confusion. Inexperienced Coach is going to cost us!!!
If you have 3 point shooters that can't make the ball in a game put Sochan in at least he can play defense.

We have multiple issues – coaching and personnel. Need to make a trade and get more size. Mitch is also horrible with lineups.

The lineup was already working when the spurs took the lead and suddenly Mitch sat KJ and I forgot the other one and the it was downhill from there.
Cannot lose these type of games and be a serious title contender. Also missing 13 free throws is atrocious. Shooting 44 3PT is also abs disgusting for a team that isn’t shooting the 3 well. We gotta get back to wearing teams down and then kicking out to shooter for 3’s. This team is so fun and so frustrating to watch

1) Stop playing like we're a great 3pt Shooting team 2) Run pick and roll offense with Fox & Wemby 3) TOUGHNESS, PLAY SOCHAN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD 4) Barnes on the Bench 5) More Bryant & Harper – All this points to a COACHING ISSUE.

Decent defensive game and horrible offense. Addicted to dumb lazy 3s (12/44, Vic 2/10) with no apparent offensive identity, the Spurs usually denied their own offensive strenghts, nearly as if they wanted to self sabotage. No real offensive struggle repeatedly during the game, they just jacked up 3s hoping for a miracle like bad gamblers. The Spurs were totally dominated in pts in the paint (56-32) and offensive rebounds (19-10) despite having 2 giants (Vic and Luke) that the Pelicans don’t have. It is ridiculous. Their offensive strategy was so bad that an intelligent 13-year-old kid could have corrected it easily. The Spurs looked like the worst offensive team in the NBA against the Pelicans who were just better ballers last night.
That back to back freethrow misses started from wemby then the pull off on kj that could cut the scores. lmao.
Let's continue with this experiment of Stephon Castle as the starting point guard. What a joke!

Offensive rebounds and free throws
Mitch Johnson Put Carter Bryant in on a wimb and hia defense sparked the team. He was Thanked by never seeing the floor again. Jeremy Sochan just cant get on the floor.. All I can think about is how many games we could've won if our coach actually knew how to coach.

We would lose in the 1st round of playoffs with this coacing
1. Actually coach Wemby into playing tough instead of taking jumpers all game…teams think he is a bitch and don't fear him
2. when wemby is struggling, but his ass in the LOW post…he is unstoppable down there…he may WANT to play like KD…but save that shit for broken plays…teams WANT him to take threes because they know he gets soft when he gets pushed around and settles for taking jumpers…they don't want him dunking on them and making highlight reels on their behalf at the rim…because that also drives his defense…
3. actually play wemby like he is a generational talent…instead of an equal opportunity roleplayer…run the offense through him…yall already barely playing him…at least run the offense through him in the halfcourt every play, and make adjustments after that…
4. love Castle, but he is NOT a pg…you can't learn the position, and it hurts the team when he runs the offense…Castle is a great cutter…Make Fox play his actual position so he can not only speed up the offense, but actually run it like a point guard should…simply driving and kicking doesn't make someone a PG…castle being on the wing and either cutting, or slashing after a hard closeout, or finishing a lob or pass on a break is much better than him running the team…
wemby is getting soft tendencies…actually coach the guy into being tough before it´s too late…he is strong enough to do it because he EASILY does it when he puts his mind to it…Mitch simply isn't a good coach and the spurs would never get rid of him because he is a Spur…but for the love of god can someone actually TELL Mitch his issues with coaching the team and coaching Wemby?
I am a fox fan and only a spurs fan because of fox . Was so happy with everything but the More I watch and really see what Wemby and this coach is about I realize they are going to waste foxs last good years .

Free throws, lack of adjustments from Mitch, and too many 3 point shooting lost us this game. I do not understand why there is no pick n roll plays being drawn up between Fox and Wemby. This just goes to show that my suspicions were correct. Mitch is not a good coach

Coach should bare responsibility. I haven’t seen Mitch say I could have done better with rotations. Before Mitch figures out how to really coach the team. Wemby may be either injured or ready to move onto another team.

We lost this game cause once again, "coach" decides to take the guys that got us back in the game, out, and put the guys that got us in the hole in the first place back in… Barnes, Champagnie, and Castle should've been kept on the bench….

I was not thrilled with the hire after Pop was gone – it kinda smelled like a DEI hire.
I'm not seeing motivation, and he was never an X's and O's guy.
