Very talented, but he gets out of control at the end of tight games (missing shots or turning over the ball) and loses against the best teams, just like Tatum does. The only exception was 2024, when we had an all-time roster. If the Celtics didn't have to assuage JB's ego, DWhite is the guy to take the clutch shot, or PP.

Was this actually an argument? Before this season, there were a lot of people who argued that Brown was better than Tatum. Hell, he won the ECF MVP and the Finals MVP. Plenty of people thought he was a legit star.
And anyone who thought Boston would be bad or mediocre was dumb. Now, they are unquestionably worse than last year. They won 61 games last year and are on pace to win 51 games this year. That's a big drop. But in the East, as weak as it is, it should have been obvious they'd be a top 3 seed.

I just hope he doesn’t burn out at the end of the road if that may be the playoffs or finals. He is a key piece to their success. But he does need help to get over the hump of competition. I’m not writing him off. But the Celtics lineup will need some help…or the other teams will need to be lacking as well.

JB was injured some of those years that Tatum was shining so his progression was hindered a little bit, especially with them changing the coaches and players those years after Brad stopped coaching. That’s why he got paid the biggest contract ever at one point. The C’s organization knew what they had in him and Tatum. The league and weird fans wanted them to break up not because they couldn’t win together but because of what they’d become. I said this years ago. They didn’t want these dudes to hit their prime together and I’m saying it now, as a Pistons and Celtics fan: if JT did comeback this year and he’s anywhere near 80/90 percent as good as he was last season, they will win the championship.
The Sports Media, Espn even low-key the National Basketball Association wants JB & JT to break up. That's why they elevate JB more than JT to create that wedge between them. They don't want team basketball anymore they especially don't want the Celtics to win more Championships. Also let's not Forget the Beef between Nike and JB.
