How the Warriors Unlocked Open Threes Playing Inside-Out vs. the Wolves

I’ll be honest — even with the win, the energy felt flat. After the postponement in Minnesota, the Warriors beat a lifeless Timberwolves team by doing something simple but effective: getting into the paint first. In what started as a defensive matchup, Golden State blew it open by pushing in transition and playing inside-out basketball, collapsing the defense and generating rhythm threes. I wanted to break down how that shifted the game, so let’s get to it.

  1. Dubs are undefeated this year when bob fitzgerald isn’t on the mic… just saying 👀👀👀

  2. ONLY FIVE(5) PLAYERS WITH 26,000 + POINTS THAT PLAYED FOR ONLY ONE FRANCHISE

KOBE BRYANT (Los Angeles Lakers) 33,643
    DIRK NOWITZKI (Dallas Mavericks) 31,560
TIM DUNCAN (San Antonio Spurs) 26,496
STEPHEN CURRY (Golden State Warriors ) 26,397
    JOHN HAVLICEK ( Boston Celtics ) 26,395

  3. The matchup in the playoffs last year was the Warriors without Steph and Kerr not being able to adjust to that (not so easy for any coach to lose their best player, and definitely bad when the entire offense is based on his gravity).

The inside out offense is what most other teams do. The Warriors experience it often. You see a lot of threes scored on them when they help off someone in the corner because the player with the ball is in the paint. It's surprising teams still play defense like that. Just stay with your guy to make sure he doesn't get an open three from the short spot in the corner, even if it means a 2 pointer is scored. Especially if you see a player is hot. This is how players keep having career days against the Warriors.

  4. Feels like forever since the warriors played like this. They need to start turning games into a 3 point contest again. Good luck to the opponent.

  5. for me the warriors should shoot that ball from deep all the time…they need to shoot it…and run on fast breaks…

  6. The only reason this worked is that McDaniel, Reid and gobert combined for like 5 pts🌞. Warriors didn’t actually shoot well at all outside moody.

  7. Hyped your vid 🎉❤

I'm happy with the win, but man, that ambiance was disheartening. 😢

    R. I. P. René Goode, Keith Porter and Alex Pretti

  8. Playing bigger players and lineups actually work. Limit Draymond’s min, touches and playing center and they’ll naturally be better. Trade for a bigger wing to replace. GP2 and Buddy, now they’re dangerous.

  9. These type of videos are the perfect antidote for the lame "it's just a 3point shootout league!" haters. These threes are almost always a result of a defensive breakdown which are part of the offense vs defence chessmatch. Shots at the basket are still the best "return on investment" so that is the main priority. However, this can lead (as in multiple cases in this video) to overcommitting. Tracking this defensive (lack of) discipline is always a fun "side-quest" when watching the game (watching the ball is usually the main quest, but often shouldnt as the most interesting decisions happen offball).

  10. man that melton has been a blessing
anything of what we have done & are achieving not possible w/out melton
    quite complete the player

    wait:
    6:30
so a ref got an assist?

  11. Kerr needs to do this more instead of playing heavy motion. Bring guys that can drive and kick instead of having draymond and Podz wasting time on the perimeter. The only one capable of doing this are Curry and Melton(jimmy too but injured)

  12. Nice win for the Warriors against the Timberwolves, as it was their first one since the injury of Jimmy Butler. The Warriors active hands tilted the game with 20 steals to seal the win. 🏀 👏

  13. I will definitely expect way better effort from the Timberwolves after coming out flat. It's difficult to beat a team twice, but it's doable.
