Fun convo thanks guys! The way I look at the Knicks right now is that it’s do or die for Mike Brown. There was a reason Sac fired him and it was because he’s stubborn to a fault and does not adjust his system in game or during the season. It will be interesting to see how the Knicks respond to this skid as a whole, beating BKYN the way they did is a great start, but it’s the Nets.
Also for better or worse, and barring a trade, they need KAT to get more involved offensively, you can’t have him hanging his head down in frustration and slowly getting back on defense the whole season.

Knicks fans are lying to themselves if they think they will be better off without KAT. Spacing and rebounding in a 7-foot body is not easy to replace. Take accountability, Coach Brown.

KAT in a down year, is still shooting a good percentage from 3’s at 36% as a center. When did a 36% 3 point shooter, especially a Center, became a bad 3 point shooter..period!!
Towns is the 2nd leading rebounder in the entire NBA and still scoring above 20 ppg. His defensive efficiency is way better than Brunson..go check the STATS!!

I just think it’s so interesting how for the past few years it has been everyone else’s fault except for the undersized guard that physically cannot play defense. It’s why Minnesota just gave up on Rob Dillingham for now. He is just too small on the court and this league is run by either having a great defense or a top 3 player like Jokic or shai. Brunson is just a top 10ish guy. You can’t win like that when the player is only good on one side of the floor.
Unless they get Giannis for KAT + filler (unlikely) the Knicks are better off swallowing their pride and getting coach who will utilize him better. They made it to ECF with him and the only difference between this and last season is Mike Brown.

Macri said one correct thing: they were not that good in the playoffs last year and it was more grit and luck they made it so far. They had all those problems in the regular season too. The team is greatly improved. Saying that you wouldnt be surprised if they lost in the first round is an insane comment.
This team need to rebuild to have a better chance of championship someday, they are not good enough, the roster including the coach will give the fans heartbreaks, they are just lucky that teams in the East have their stars injured…Real talk.
